The new look of Tide

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

The one thing I noticed is the caps are bigger. Seems to me in an article recently, a P&G spokesperson said it was "crazy" that they made the caps bigger to encourage more detergent use, but they made the measuring lines and numbers inside the cap to help consumers with dosing.

Riiiiiiiight...

Tide

w/Bleach liquid has an opaque white measuring cap. The blue color detergent contrasts nicely against the suggested measurement marks noted in the cap.

I transfer this cap to the other versions with the blue caps where it is very difficult see the lines.

I bought a bottle of Tide Coldwater HE based on Leslie's recommendation.

The blue cap + blue liquid makes for difficulty seeing the measuring lines.  The cap is translucent if held to a strong light source (such as window), which is the only way I can see them to measure.  The instructions designate line 2 for "medium loads" and line 3 for "large loads."  Line 1 is not mentioned, note there's very little difference between 1 and 2.  Line 3 is approx 1/2 the cap size, so if people blindly use a FULL CAP, that's a serious overdose.  The cap must be held level for accurate measuring.  It's so much easier to measure powders using a 1 oz. scoop (saved from canisters of powdered drink mix or oxybooster) that can simply be leveled-off with no sticky residue remaining.
