Hi Guys I am Back after along time away, I hope all is well with you. Especially Dano, ok the Zanussi Lindo 100 what about it I hear you ask. Right after my Candy fl was not quite managing to get up to its final 1400 spin after 7 years hard labour, I decided to part company with it. The machine it self was becoming faulty, after selecting a 40 degree wash it would cook my colored cottons and over heat. So not good so the sweet candy turned sour, it had to go. So me and my Partner Terry decided to go to Fenwicks in town, after having a good look round at the offers and features the machines have I opted for the Zanuzzi Lindo 100 at £77 pounds a month over 4 months, total £299.99. This was a home event sale original price £399.99. Great made the 1st payment arranged delivery after shift swap, the day came unhooked the old one ready to take away. Oh I was like an expectant father pacing outside and watching for the van coming, so the van arrived. Got it settled in the kitchen, after a struggle with the transit bolts and the general preparation job done. How wrong I was I forgot there was a slant on the floor, after judging the hight of the feet after countless tries I finally settled the machine. Now to try it, after carfully loading the machine and getting the load just right. I noticed the machine was very very quiet while its washing, on the main programmes if the eco facility is chosen this reduces the wash time from 2 to 3 hours, down to 1 hour 59 if the extra rinse facility is chosen on a wash of 40 degrees. Even less on a 30 degree wash. Ok I have gone through a main wash now its gonna do an interim spin and oh good lord its screeching, oh s**t. So I waited till it finished and thought teething problems, next 3 interim spins no problem. Main spin on hi 1600 spin it started screeching like a banshee, the engineer came out who said it was the bearings were not lubricated enough. He offered a repair I said no, I arranged for a new machine.
Round 2 A new machine came got it settled great, on the 1st interim spin horror of horrors, it was spraying water on the floor. I discovered a tiny hole in the out let pipe.
Round 3 New machine settled and in place phew, I love the machine its quick, thorough, and efficient. the 1600 spin is very quiet it does not sound like a jet taking off while the spin is ramping up. The clean items are very dry to the point of finishing them off in the drier, K

Zanussi being E-Lux sourced, we pretty much own a simmilar machine now.
We have the AEG L71670FL. 1600rpm, 7kg. Our AEG did a kind of screetching spin since we have it, but this quiets down over time. These machines are really ok, but I wouldn't call them silent by any means.

Sorry to hear of the rough start with the Lindos! I think they're great looking and spec machines. Id have had one if hubby hadn't of been extra generous and let me get a matching AEG set.

Any chance of some photos? Would love to see the front fill down the door!

OH NOOOOOOOOOO NOT AGAIN

The new machines at it again screeching like a banshee on hi spin yet again, after pains ta-kingly trying to level the damn thing. The floor at the back of the machine is tiled and on a slant, there is no more room for maneuver for the feet to adjust. If I try to adjust the feet to heighten the machine, the feet will lock out. I used a spirit level download on my iphone, and lined it up as far back as could get to the back of the machine. in short there is no play on either side of the machine, its solid with no rocking motion. Any hints ideas or suggestions would be help full. THE MACHINE IS BRAND NEW AND IN GUARANTEE, the load of the tub is a 7kg tub. I am monitoring the situation having made the store aware of whats going on, I will bear with it and use it for now. The last case scenario is to get the engineer out

I can only imagine the sound to be the usual E-Lux brushed motor sound. Does it sound somewhat simmilar to this?

If so, well, that's usual.
Or, if possible, could you upload a video of the machine during full spin to Youtube and post the link here? This would help us all to help you.

Although it was a few years ago now, I had 3 brand new Zanussi machines that did exactly what yours is doing (they had the brushed motor). I told the supplier (electricity board shop) that I wouldn't chance having a 4th and bought a Siemens machine instead - bad mistake but that's another story!

The shop said at the time they had had several other brand new Zanussi machines of varying models with the same fault, so suspected a bad batch of a particular component (They thought motor, but it could be a number of things).

A few years later I bought a brand new Zanussi WJS1665 XC washer dryer which was delivered with a motor that 'ticked'. Surprisingly annoying! Engineer replaced motor, as it was faulty - said he'd had to do several due to suspected faulty batch.

Personally I would get an engineer to look at it as it's not right - maybe take a video or record the sound when it screeches, so you can show the engineer. I recently did that with our Hotpoint fridge freezer which sometimes sounded like it was about to take off. Of course it didn't do it the day the engineer came, but I was at least able to play him the sound on my phone!

Trial and error

I have got this iritation sorted now, as I say I can not wash a full load on eco wash, as the machine is load sensitive and likes a balanced load on the right programe. It has to be like for like items no mixing heavy stuff with light, so care has to be taken. An example of a comfortable load is 1 double duvet cover 4 pillow covers 2 king size bed sheets and 5 tea towels. This leaves a clear space between the top of the load, up to the top of the drum leaving room for the load to move comfortable. Slowing the interim and main spins further to not to go bang into the spin, owing to the weight of the wet items. 20 mins into the main wash the drum gradually builds up to a faster and longer rotation, then stops for about 2 to 3 seconds and rotates the oposite way. This I like as this action makes use of the wash powder getting the items much cleaner, so I have it sussed guys.

Zanussi lindo reviews

I have found some reviews referring to the lindo machines, and they are experiencing the same issues as me. being the machines are load sensitive, the drum is very springy and after the distribution phase of the clothes around the drum. The drum will spring back and forth then settle, then spin. Now I am unsure about this washer now, I still have the option should it start screeching on the spin cycle. The engineer will be called in, and should he offer a repair I will simply say no I want a new machine of a different make. Quoting this is the 3rd machine I have had from Zanussi, I want a different make now. By LAW I can not be refused, So what now I am for now stuck with it. The machine has 2 more payments to go on a 4 part payment plan, the next one is due 7th of April UK time. I can not refuse to pay as interest will occur, and this is on my partner Terrys account
