Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I think this might be a bit older, but close...

From the Montgomery Ward Dept. 85 service manual for Norge-built washers:

Center Post Assembly

"The center post assembly is made up of the center post, a nylon bearing installed over the lower portion of the center post and a bearing installed in the upper portion of the center post.

The center post assembly is secured to the upper spin tube hub by the 3 screws that secure the spin basket. A gasket is installed between the center post and the hub."

I sounds like the shaft cover (center post) should be able to be removed with the 3 bolts when you remove the spin basket.

As I'm doing this, I hear someone knocking. I put down the Dremel and head for the front door. As I pass by the GE Filter-Flo, I realize the knock was an unbalanced beach towel that I had thrown in!

Hello, Shady Pines Retirement Home? I' d like to make a reservation, please...

LOL welcome to my world, Bobby.

Parts on order, thanks to Larry at Modern Parts (thanks Robert!). The three hole agitator post could not be had, but a six hole could. Should the three extra holes be plugged, or will the gasket seal be enough? Any suggestions for the tub cover gasket? I bet it is also NLA. Will it tear when I pull the cover? If so, then what?
