Hi all,
I don't know why I do this to myself.
I'm really not in a position to bring a second washing machine into the house, and yet I keep looking at what's for sale in or near my area.
After seeing Harley's videos of their "new" belt drive 1978 Kenmore, I started looking at what was out there for Kenmores.
The most tempting one I've run across thus far is an almond colored 80 Series. Really clean looking.
Dual action agitator.
I don't know exactly what year it is, but I would guess late 80s, early 90s, based on similar machines that other members have schooled me on. Probably direct drive?
The story is; the seller bought a house about a year ago, and the washer came with it.
They've been using it, and at some point, the seller replaced the agitator dogs. (I have no idea what they are).
He said it was working fine the last time they used it, but his wife wanted a larger capacity machine.
So, they bought one, and they're selling the Kenmore...for $50.
The positives:
I love the style of the washer, and the almond color.
It's my understanding that they're a very well built, long lasting machine.
It's only $50.
The reasons I have to pass on it:
First and foremost...nowhere to put a second washing machine.
It's about an hour away from here. Which may not seem like anything, but I hate driving.
The seller can not deliver it. It has to be picked up. I have no vehicle that could transport it.
Did I mention, nowhere to put it?
Quick question.
To further torture myself, I watched some YouTube videos of similar washers.
Some comments refer to this dual action design as the "Shredmore".
Is that true? Are they rough on clothes?
