Here is a washer that just came in last night. I think it illustrates what I was referring to earlier. The "gunk" just grosses me out. Luckily the internet isn't smell-o-vision enabled yet. this washer reaks. I still can't believe that folks wash their clothing in these things. if I've offended anyone with this shot, I appologize. If this shot looks familiar, CLEAN YOUR $@!$*! WASHER!!!

Is the tub rusted? Isn't it SS? I never thought it could rust.

The washer is a speed queen as far as I can tell.

They probably left clothes in the machine, closed the lid after using (instead of letting it air out), threw detergent/softener/bleach all over the place.

No, the tub isn't rusted. It's been raining here all day & the tub is wet. The machine is sitting outside because it smells of sewer water. I won't put it in my shop. Yep, it's an SQ going to die. That's one less of these machines, and that'll make the one you find 20-30 years from now even rarer and more valuable.

incorrect sorting of clothes, like mixing towels with sheets and shirts or cottons with synthetics so the washer gets unbalanced and the moisture sensor in the dryer is fooled.

People who keep "peeking" in the dryer to check for dryness instead of letting the Auto Dry do its thing.

Overloading

incorrect cycle for items being washed.
