Hello Googie! Why can't we have coffee shops like this anymore?? That RR would be right at home!

To Mark's comment, yes, no shortage of power here being on my own transformer. However when you add the numbers up in this RR, we have to be nearing a 40 Amp draw. I guess I hadn't given it much thought, but in the winter there have been times that I've had two dryers going, the range baking and 10kw of electric heat operating. Plus water heater and misc. Hmmm. That gives me just enough margin for lights and the Raytheon!

Just wait until the drive-in goes up! I wonder if the neighbors would object to a small fusion reactor? Nothing too garish...maybe woodtone brown. Hmmm...

edit: btw, I'll have to find Silent Movie on 16mm ; )[this post was last edited: 4/5/2015-21:05]

Cadman:You need your own substation!Liked the Westinghouse film about tubes--have this as a BOOK written by Westinghouse.Got it in a "tub of Books" on electronics from one of the swap shops. The person that owned the books was an engineer at the DuPont factory in Kinston. The tub only cost a few bucks-but LOTS of good books in it!!!Oh-it was Jetcone that brought the tubes video! At our plant the antenna is not connected to the grid of the tube--but to the PLATE circuit!

Miss the mercury tubes, too!Good, another mercury tube fan.Now its using some of the 250W,and 400W mercury yard lights from our site-they were replaced with LED ones. The ones were Westinghouse Silverliners and GE cobraheads.Glad I salvaged some before they went to the scrapper! So I can get some comforting mercury glow-got most of the bulbs we used to have here, too. The lights are perfect for my "flashoholic" collection along with my vacuums. Two of my fixtures had blown ballasts-replaced them.
