What a beautiful sounding MGM group. The female version of Little Anthony and the Imperials. It's Gonna Take A Miracle was a great album as well as their second, The Elegant Sound of the Royalettes. I love all of the tunes on both albums. Anyone else a fan?

Were they singing in the early to mid 60's ? Did they become
So & So and the Royalettes ? Who was the lead? I am familiar
with the first title , but don't specifically associate it with the Royalettes ; I was fairly smitten with all the girl
groups from about 1959 on , but I can't "hear" them , if ya
know what I mean.

Girl groups are well represented on my jukebox but I have yet to find a Royalettes 45. Delmer you are spot-on about them being the female counterpart to The Imperials.

Big Girl Group fan!!!

I thought I was the only one who knew about the Royalettes! I love Gonna take a Miracle and was even floored when I typed it in on YouTube and actually found it. I also love Laura Nyro and Labelle's version as well.

Other notable vids:

The Flirtations: Nothing But A Heartache
Patti Labelle and the Blue Belles: All Or Nothing
The Ronettes: Is This What I Get For Loving You
and ANYTHING by Darlene Love!!!!

I could go on and on!

Darrel,

It was Sheila Ross and her Royalettes. I don't think they were ever billed as that, but it comes up on the internet at times that way. Long live the Royalettes!

I also love the Royalettes "It's Gonna Take A Miracle". I've got a copy of that song on the cd set titled Growin' Up Too Fast: The Girl Group Anthology. Another favorite of mine is Lesley Gore. I have been a fan/friend of hers since the early 60s. Anyone else like her music?
