Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support AutomaticWasher.org:

That is one great-looking range, Kelly. Go for it! My Frigidaire has a warming drawer and I use it more often than I thought I would. GE ranges get rated very highly at Consumer Reports, and when the time comes to replace mine, I'll probably go with GE.

Inductions are finally making a breakthrough. That MSRP is really high though. Probably sells for considerably less. Sears induction stove prices dropped quite a bit over the last year to under $2k and Samsung are beginning to pump them out as well for even less.

Community Trend Setter

My long time friend Steve Shaw owns the local GE dealership. He always makes a decent deal with me, he'd like to get one in the community to reference to other buyers and he's still feeling guilty over the whole fiasco of repairing mom's Maytag so the time to deal is now.

Frigidaire

Frigidaire has an induction model as low as 1,499.00 In looking at the Sears it appears it is a Frigidaire/Electrolux model as well. At Nextag the GE is down to 1,899.00 so it begins to level the playing field. Samsung has the burner controls on the cooktop which doesn't thrill me but when the rubber hits the road (after the ebay auctions close) I'll make the decision. There's still the wash in, some catering, Sara's terrifying delivery looms ahead as well as a trip to Sante Fe so I am thinking Christmas baking on a new range is more how the schedule will go.

So i just came home from the local having downed a few bottles. One of my neighbors tells me they just bought a new Kenmore Induction stove this past week for $1299 on sale. Came with a coupon for $500 cookware coupon as well, have to send in the coupon for that what brand I don't know.. Sears in Canada stores ... now I'm sorely tempted.

Looks interesting. But are you sure you want to learn the eccentricities of a new range and oven with all the holiday cooking? I popped in a new Electrolux Wave touch oven last fall just before Thanksgiving and it was a bit tricky to do my holiday baking in anew oven and get the results I wanted. But with all the baking you do you'll have the unit sussed in no time.

Last night at the local quaffing a few one of the regulars was telling me he and his wife had just bought a new induction stove on sale at Sears in Canada for $1299 and it came with a $500 coupon towards some sort of cookware or you mailed it in and got a set of cookware. tempting... very tempting. I didn't see it on the website so may have to go to the store and see

darnit

So I ventured forth to Sears this morning to check out that stove deal... wrong.. it wasn't 1299 it was 1999.. so I won't be getting one now or in the near future either until they drop some more.

I truly prefer the induction ranges because----

They are easier to keep clean, the heat is much more evenly distributed, most of the models include a dual speed true convection oven which is self cleaning, the temperature variations are so much faster as well as accurate that it is like having microwave burners as opposed to convention electric or gas. If there is a boil or spill over, you are able to just wipe it off with a paper towel or wash cloth instead of having to use elbow grease and a scrubby.I remember seeing a Sears Kenmore induction cook top range years ago and it was the only full range i had ever seen that had the induction cook top.either way,I ma sure that, just like the microwave ovens and flat screen tvs,the prices will drop eventually.
