The back of my house has a deck on the second floor. Anywho, I was looking out the back window this afternoon, and noticed a vacuum there that I had never seen before. It's a Sunbeam Canister..................I have no idea where it came from. I'm getting to the bottom of this NOW!

Re: Miracles never cease:

Hi! Corey, does anyone around where you live know your love of Small, Medium and Large Appliances? Maybe you've mentioned to someone about wishing you had a Sunbeam Canister Vac and they thought that they would surprise you with one?

Maybe it just came down to your Deck on a "Sunbeam" from the Vacuum Heavens, with your name on it.

Here's my guess...

I think that it might possibly been your dad's first vacuum when he moved out into his first apartment. Then it was put up in the attic untill today when someone found it while cleaning out the attic. So they just left it on the deck.

Of course, this is just a guess. ;)

someone has to know !

...about your appreciation for appliances! What kind of canister is it? A Courier suitcase of one of the round canisters? What color? My parents were doing yardwork some years back and found a Eureka upright vacuum cleaner in their flowerbed! My Mom called and said someone left me a present in their yard and to come pick it up!

Needs cleaning....

Here it is! It actually turned out that it was my Dad's very first vacuum cleaner. It was indeed kept in the attic my entire life, and I never knew about it! They've been cleaning the attic and they threw it out onto the deck the other day. Apparently my parents completely forgot about it.

This particular sunbeam canister....

has great suction.

Is a little loud (reminds me of a celebrity).

Is surprisingly light and manuverable! Comparing it to my Guardsman canister...it's worlds easier to lug around my cramped house.

a cool vacuum!

Definitely a keeper just for it's history alone. Are there tools? Do they store inside?
Sorry to bug, i just love Sunbeams.

I hope I have more tools....

No, they do not store inside the machine....at least I don't think so. Theres so indication of a place for tools at all. As we dig deeper into the attic, I hope the other tools turn up :). All I have now is the hose, wands, and the bare floor/rug tool.

Oh well! Live in hope!

Corey
