I'm writing a novel loosely inspired by the 1963 Doris Day movie "The Thrill of it All." The movie, you may recall, has Doris Day playing a housewife who becomes a celebrity from her live TV soap commercials. (This time, the hero is a middle-aged divorced guy who becomes the celebrity! The dude is such a slob that he has a bottle of Thrill under his kitchen sink...)
Was researching Thrill dishwashing detergent and stumbled upon this site...I remember Thrill was launched as a pink liquid detergent around 1960 or '61, and it was reformulated as Peach Thrill around 1968 or '69. It may have been discontinued around 1976 (about the time Dawn dishwashing liquid was introduced), but I'm not sure. Any dishwashing mavens know the answer?
This guy's bottle is supposed to be so old it doesn't have a UPC code...but if Thrill was discontinued in 1976, I'll have to change the brand, since the guy was married and divorced in 1978!
Thanks!
