The ultimate Belt Drive?

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Under the hood....

Tub looks like new.
This machine is untested. I really don't have a use for it. Anyone give $40.00 for it?
I know of the matching electric dryer, if you feel the need. It works, but the owner wants $130.00 for it.

Let me know if there are any takers. Picked up in South Bend, Indiana, or you arrange shipping. I can hold it for a few weeks, but not much longer.

BEAU-TI-FUL!

The ultimate Belt Drive it is! Boy she looks like she just left the showroom floor at Sears. Unfortunately I cannot take it, but hopefully someone will take it off your hands quickly. I hope her condition matches her appearance.

Have a good one,
James

Steve -

That machine uses the standard transmission/agitator shaft. This is a large capacity machine, but not the gargantuan machines made from the 60s to 1981, so a Roto-Swirl or Vari-Flex would fit, but they would simply be filled higher-up on a full water level (the Vari would probably look funny though). The large cap. agitators were designed to have water raise up higher on them as compared to the agitators in the standard tubs.

If you don't like the "cruel" action, which takes getting used to but probably works best of the belt-drive agitators for the larger tubs, the "winged" double-duty Surgilator would fit perfectly.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

This is a great machine!

I had this set in "Coppertone" color.
The Roto - Swirl is not so bad with the belt drives. They actually washed very well and were gentle on fabrics.
I loved the dryer! It was a very hot dryer, and actually soft at the same time for lighter fabrics.
I sold this set so that I could buy the last set of the Electronic Kenmore top loaders. I really was unhappy with the new set. In more ways than one.
Life goes on....
Someone out there will bite on this washer. It is a fun washer! The sounds and mechanics are all vintage, however controlled electronically. What a world!

NICE!

If only I was closer, I would take it in a heartbeat. I'm not a big fan of black, but it does look really nice. The control panel looks like a lot of fun.

Happy Turkey Day Everyone!

WOW!! What an elegant looking machine!!Would like to find one-but alas too far for me.the only ones similar that I have seen are the DD ones and a Calypso in the same color case. Both were at the swap shops in my area.Yes-you can use other WP-KN BD agitators in one of those-have done it before-had a selection of agitators to try back when the swap shops sold them for a dollar or two each-now the BD agitators are hard to find here. This was many years ago.

I have the original sales sheet for this washer, if anyone goes for the washer I'll throw it in the deal. It's a one-page glossy black promo sheet that was available in the stores. I actually bought this pair in the spring of 1985, then discovered that the dryer was too deep for the laundry alcove, so I had to cancel the order (sales lady was p*ssed).
