The VMW mechanism...(2010+WP)

About to rotate my 2010 VMW cabrio into "guest"position and got to wondering how this mechanism has stood up so far? Have heard of "mode shifter" problems,but Mine so far has been good-machine had PC board capacitor problems when I got it.For those not familiar,VMW uses a 1/3 HP split capacitor motor- reversing back and forth for agitation motion-belted to a planetary reduction gearbox.Motor,with a radial fan on top,does not get very hot.

How it stood up?

The planetary gearbox has made it from the VMW to the direct drive units replacing the floting tub system.

So I suppose WP loves it.

Which is weird...

Because my Maytag 765, the tub moved up and down...

That is probably just the suspesion rods compressing under the weigh of the water in the tub.

I like it and I think Whirlpool has done their homework.
