Well, it's from Paintsville, KY!

GE stopped making these in the very early sixties. Which means, if they are STARTING to die/fade en masse, these refrigertors have been working for almost 50 years. That's pretty damned impressive.

I'm also interested, in these pics, to see that big honkin' bracket on the top of the wall behind the fridge which begins to answer my question as to how these things were mounted. I'd love to see a copy of the installation manual for this fridge.

IIRC sellers of this and the other unit on eBay both claim thing were working when last used. More likely than not it is yet another case of new homeowners chucking out "old" appliances. In he past they would have been kicked to the curb, and as we know a good many still are; however everyone has gotten wise to eBay and looks to make a few penece if they can. Guess they've got to make back those closing costs somehow! *LOL*

Still think for a small kitchen like in a cottage or such these units are a great idea. Concept is still around with all the mini/dorm fridges one sees, though do not know if they can be wall mounted. And of course we've just seen the return of roll out freezers.
