This probably belongs on "As the Tub Turns" but Thelma Lou was a household name.

Sadly, Betty Lynn, the actress who played Thelma Lou, Barney's loyal girlfriend on "The Andy Griffith Show," passed away Friday (October 16.) She was 95 years old.

I always liked her. She appeared in several movies during the late 40’s and early 50’s. In 1951 she played Bette Davis and Barry Sullivan’s daughter in “Payment on Demand”. I read somewhere a few years ago that she had lived in the same West Hollywood home since 1950 until moving to Mt. Airey, North Carolina a few years ago. Ninety five years of age is a good run, May she rest in peace.
