While working on my present estate sale where I found the Control Tower Frigidiare Dryer, there was the most fabulous light fixture in the dining room. I was able to make an deal with the owner: by installing a new light fixture and he sold me the old one! There is nothing like the 50's and 60's when it comes to light fixture design!!!

I found this at my December estate sale, and it looked so much like a 60's Frigidaire Jet Action Agitator that I just had to have them. Have not found a spot for them yet, but they are just too fabulous!

Found this a while back and with just a little recapping and reworking got it to be a very reliable and useable set. Nothing like and Admiral. Its a 9inch double transformer double chassis set from 1947........

Great Lamp

FilterFlo, that is an absolutely stunning lamp. Congrats on the aquisition.

I just spent part of the day meticulously cleaning up a vintage swag lamp. It was intended for my bedroom, but now I think that I'll put it in the kitchen as illustrated and hang my nelson bubble lamp in my bedroom. It's hard to get a good picture of it but here it is from a distance.

The changer works pretty well, on 78's here. Its kind of clunky and mechanical, but overall does a pretty good job. Just love those 78's, I think this is Kay Starr doing the Rock and Roll Waltz........

I play the radio quite often on both AM and FM. Luckily its the Armstrong FM design so it works with all the present FM stations. But the rule is NO DR Laura! EVER.

Wow

If you don't have a place for those swag lamps, I'll be happy to take them off your hands. Man, those are fantastic!!!!!

Veg, did you get your new saucer lamp hung yet?

Here's a more close up picture of my new lamp. The outside bands are a translucent lucite-type material with gold glitter and other patterns inside the composite.

Hmmmm..

I'll trade you a Saarinen Womb chair and a vintage kit kat clock for your swag lamps and your washer. And I'll throw in some other chairs for good measure.

I think we better quit while we are ahead! Id never trade my GE washer for anything! Its the absolute best! and its running as we speak!! Besides, what would I want with a chair when I could put another washer or dryer in its place?

Speaking of chairs,

Speaking of chairs, Appliguy Patrick stopped by this weekend and the first order of business was to pick up some chairs at the Greyhound station. The box was crushed, torned apart and pulverized. However, the chairs were not damaged. There were two of them. I don't know the manufacturer of these chairs. I never saw these kind of chairs before, but I love them.

Other angles

OK, then I'll just have to find another Versatronic washer somehow. Bummer. Surely I have something you want?

No, it's not Knoll issue. I already checked.

Patrick and I hit a flea market that is usually not very fruitful, but we both managed to come back with some pretty cool stuff for dirt cheap.

Well Vers, you know I AM in the business where I find a lot of things. You never know when I might find another one....If I do, Id put you first on the list for it. Always keep that in mind.....theres still more than one out there/its just yet to be found.....

Both of you find the coolest things! Jimmy that light fixture is gorgeous with the built in night light. But tell me about those great clocks on the wall behind it. Great collections! Thanks!

Hi Don,
Glad you liked the lights. The clocks on the wall have an interesting story. The lower clock on the right (with the tulips) was a wedding present to my Mom and Dad. My brother and I broke it when we were kids, but it still worked so it was always in our kitchen on the wall. When I first started going to Goodwill, or Salv Army or flea markets many years ago, I started hunting for a similar one to fix my Mom's. I found one, but just didnt stop at one! Turns out there were many designs with the same face and they were made by the Hall China Co. I thought they were so neat looking that I put them all on the wall in a pattern, and have had them in every apartment or house that I have ever lived in. They are actually quite valuable now, and still see them on ebay often. I just love the detail on each one, and it was a thrill to be able to restore my Mom's original clock back to new.

Neat stuff, and what's that little tv on the left side of the Admiral console sitting on another tv? And what are all those appliances sitting on a shelf downstairs, I see percs and coffee masters, anything else we have yet to see?
