When I lived in Jersey City there were at least 20 of these at the curb in front of the mid-rise across the street from me waiting to be scrapped. They had replaced the old metal casement windows with vinyl double hung and these were no longer needed.

That's just a filthy old air conditioner. Doesn't look to be the best shape either. I would wonder if it even works properly.
