Have nil interest in T1 dryer
But should a W1 washer pop up at some point in future (used), and at an attractive price, that would be another matter. Especially if by then Big Bertha (Miele W1070) has packed it in.
Will be interesting to see how well these Miele heat pump dryers sell in USA. This and hearing real world reviews from actual owners. Fact that ABT seems to only have the W1 washers in stock while dryers are "special order" (IIRC) is telling. Perhaps they don't want to be saddled with inventory that cannot be moved.
Am not entirely sure, but IIRC these heat pump dryers have a definite lifespan. Maybe something to do with the refrigerant system? In any event once whatever triggers the dryer to be then be no longer useable it must be discarded. Suppose this is like air conditioners, refrigerators and other similar appliances that use condenser systems with chemical refrigerant.
OTOH vented and some vented dryers can (and have) lasted decades, and then can be repaired (assuming parts are still found) to go several more.
