Well, I still have them both but can't wait until I can replace them:
1997 Amana (Speed Queen) Washer and Dryer. These things were junk from the day they were delivered. The washer is ready for its 4th belt, and it's not as simple to replace as on my 70's Maytag. And when you set it on "warm" the water is tepid at best. It also only has one chintzy little spray rinse that lasts about 15 seconds. The dryer is louder than a rooftop a/c unit, full of squeaks and rattles, gets so hot it smells like somebody is ironing inside the drum, and the repairmen all say the burner is cycling on and off normally. It would give me great pleasure to push both of these junkers off a cliff somewhere. I guess if I had a repairman like "irishwashguy" did, I'd have a reason to hang onto this useless laundry pair, but out of all the service calls since I've had these, not one of the men who has shown up has been worth a second glance. The washer was top rated by Consumer Reports and was a good deal when I was in the market for a new one, so went for it. I've since canceled my subscription to CR, as their research is obviously faulty.
One thing I did unload recently was my mom's '85 Lincoln--the style that tried to imitate the Cadillac Seville with the bustle-back rear end. That car was the biggest dog ever, not that it broke down a lot, it was just a dog to drive and had a "computer" that was impossible to figure out and would produce warning beeps about information you couldn't decipher or clear out. The "check antilock brakes" warning was permanently lit even though there was no problem. And the air suspension leaked so it was just a few inches off the ground after sitting for a few days. You had to wait a few minutes after starting it so it would rise up again, and if you drove it too soon, you'd bounce like a lowrider. What a piece of garbage that car was.
Also glad to be rid of my appx 1985 Whirlpool 25.4 c.f. side-by-side. My partner and I bought it used in 1990 and I'm thinking a power surge related to Loma Prieta fried it, and the replacement compressor was inadequate. That thing almost never shut off and when it was running and you had to turn up the volume on the TV. I was glad when the bottom hinge on the refrigerator door went bad and the whole door nearly fell off. Wasn't worth fixing and I got a nice KitchenAid side-by-side with the ice bin in the freezer door. I know that's still a Whirlpool product but at least it was brand new and not messed with and it's quiet and doesn't run nearly as much as the frig it replaced.
I know there are more, but that's all I can come up with for now!
