I would use the 2-part glue that was discussed in the
gluing plastics thread. Difficulty would arise from
what has been done with the iron since the crack developed
and whether or not one can actually get the activator and
glue into the crack. (If gunk has built up in the crack,
then trying to glue it might just not be possible.)
