... This month needs to get... (lets recap) -- SQ FL and Miele ?s

Hello all!

This post is ... a bit of a recap, but there is a purpose behind it (as well as it being in this forum)...

I am ready for this month to be over... It has been too long and its only half gone.

I started a part time job Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights cleaning a laundromat. I clean the dryers, wipe the washers down and vacuum the floors. It pays well and a perk is I get access to any of the machines for free.

With that said, I was slated to pick up a Maytag Neptune 7500 Set, the seller backed out on our deal so I was going to start looking around. My boss at the laundromat (a great customer at the vac store) has a Speed Queen set he said I could take off his hands but the washer needs bearings. Its a model LTS80AWH. (The reason for the post) How hard are the bearings to replace on these machines? I can't find any videos online.

Also, what are the thoughts on the LTS80? I saw two posts containing that model. I like the fact that there is a timer dial that you can adjust the length of the cycles.

Also, I've got the Miele set that I've decided to purchase partially paid for. I'm ordering them through our account at the vac store. The rep said they have a vented dryer held for me. I told him I wouldn't buy a set unless I could get a vented dryer. The washer is the W3038, the dryer being T8003. What are the thoughts on this set? Besides that, 9/12/14, I had to put one of my cats down. Baby had kidney failure.. It was very sudden and... Didn't end well for anyone involved. I am absolutely heart broken.

Before that happened, I had a sleep test and was put on a CPAP, so thats been ... interesting...

Oh and right before that, we had record rain in August, and the last weekend I came home to my kitchen flooded, which is normal any more... only this time I walked into the living room and there was an inch of standing water...

So, like I said, I am ready for this month to be over...

But anyways, any thoughts on the SpeedQueen FL or Miele sets?

Sounds like you've had a rough month. Sorry for the loss of your cat--such a cute face.

I've used a CPAP machine (full triangular mask) for...geez...five or six years. The first few months were absolute hell. I hated the thing with a passion, and used to actually dread going to bed. Now, I don't even lie down for 5 minutes without putting it on. It will lower your nighttime blood pressure and possibly save your life. I sleep on my side, which tends to push the mask out of place sometimes, but I've found a certain way to use two stacked pillows that works well. I just can't sleep on my back, which is what CPAP recommends. And the test is SO much fun. "Here, were going to tape 36 wires to your body and stick a mask on you. Now fall asleep!" I had to take the test twice because I didn't fall asleep the first time. A well-timed Xanax before the 2nd test allowed me to sleep well, LOL. Good luck, and hang in there with it. There will be times you want to throw the thing through a window during the period of adjustment.

Water in the house: SUCKS. There's no two ways about it.

Hope next month is better for you. Sorry, but I haven't much to say about the SQ/Miele washers, having no experience with either. I'll let others tackle that one.

Thank you! He definitely was a cutie. We had him for nearly 11 years.. I feel like I lost a partner in life.... I've never had a boyfriend because I've always had the company of my two cats. Now its just CJ and myself. They have always been easier to share the bed and living space with than any of my overnight 'guests'...

I have had no problems with the ResMed nasal mask I got with my Respironics machine. I have been sleeping very well on my side or back (though I do get tangled up sometimes). I have an automatic CPAP with the start pressure set at 9. I've been sleeping very well with the CPAP which surprised my Dr and Rep that sold it to me. I am very thankful for the CPAP..

.. That sleep test... Had I known the hell they were going to put me through, then charge me $1900, I would have said no thank you... Each one of those wires weren't taped but epoxied to me.... Then after the glue started setting, they took a little needle and stabbed where each sensor was so there would be good connection.......... Count all those colored wires.... I have never had a more unpleasant experience in my life. I slept a total of 4 hours before they dumped acetone on my head and got it in my eyes trying to get the wires off... They said I'd have to retake the test.. The DR said she had enough info to prescribe the machine.

Water in the house is something I have lived with since my landlord hired her last batch of fly-by-night contractors.. The rent is 1/6th of what new places are so I stay and deal with it. I am just getting to the point where more and more of my stuff is sitting in storage instead of my living space :/

The laundromat is a fun place.. We are running Dexter Washers and Dryers for the regular stuff, Speed Queens for the Top Loaders, wascomat washers and maytag dryers for the greasy/oil stuff. I took the pics after I cleaned it for the night..

I rigged up a ModernDay S2 CentralVac can to a hand truck and wheel that around to vacuum out the lint screens. it has a 12 gallon debris capacity. I fill it each night.

It is entertaining watching people do their laundry. You have the people that barely load the triple-load machines and hardly use any detergent all the way to the people that will over load the 80lb Dexter and have so much soap in I have to get the extractors out and clean the floors... I've been learning a lot on what not to do just by watching the customers.

Each night the machines are cleaned out and made ready for the next day of abuse. The owner is going to have me help him change the bearings on one of the wascomats so I can learn how to change the bearings on the SQ!

Well as an owner of both Miele washing machine and dryer, for more than four years now, I just can't fault it.

The machines are working really hard in the last past two years as our family have been extended with a little girl and now another boy is on his way. (Very excited)

The machines work on a daily basis and have to contend with soft toys, more sheets, as we are busy potty training, loose rugs, tablecloths etc, my running shoes, and my dry clean only work suites. The resultsare excelent and could not be better, we do not have a vented dryer but instead we have a condensor dryer, again it is flawless.

It does not have a lot of bells and whistles and is a rather boaring machine, but build like a tank, comparable to a Mercedes. (back before Chrysler and benz were in bed)

All of the best for the rest of the month for you, I just know things will improve it must it is a law of nature!!! And when you receive those Miele's you will look back and think that all of your sacrifices was worth it.

Enjoy them and let us know the moment you receive them.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your kitty. You never realize just how attached and how much you love them when it comes time to face the fact that you have to part with them because of some issue and must put them down.

Third-
If you have trouble sleeping in the past you will come to love having the CPAP. Yes, the testing is a P.I.A. But once you have the machine you are amazed at how well you will sleep. When I had my heart attack three yrs. ago I was put on one and at first thought OH GEEZ I'm not going to like it. But now that I sleep soundly, it makes all the difference. I won't go to bed without it.

Fourth-
There's only two more weeks left in this month. It will be over before you even realize it. Stay strong it'll get better.

Washdaddy, I appreciate it. I am just waiting to see whats going to happen next... The stresses of life seem to be getting easier to deal with though...

I'm trying to keep myself calm and not get upset about small stuff... snooping through this site at night really helps me unwind. I tend to lose my self here. I love reading the things people post.

As far as the SQ's go, I'm just trying to arm my self with the knowledge needed for when I get the parts ordered for that washer.

The Miele stuff, I have the money sitting in my drawer at work, till I have the full amount... I'm just somewhat torn if I should get the set or buy one of those TurboWash 6 motion LG's that MickeyD has. The more I watch videos on those machines, the more I fall for them.

With Miele, I love the concept and design philosophy but I can not stand the arrogance of that company and its employees...
