Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

The wrapping does not look like it is original.  I don't think Sears in the 70s had that thin-weave padding nor would they have taped the wrap to the machine...

Attempting to Contact Owner . . .!

Though her ad requests ' text only', I do not text, (don't even own a cell phone). I left a very early morning voice message, and hope I get a response. This would be a nice little drive, not a Kitchenaid as I hoped for, but a nice substitute if my wife is happy.

Hope I receive a response!

That is the exact console we had on our 69 D&M built, Roto Rack when growing up.  It's odd to see it installed precariously like that.

I too am questioning the authenticity of the shrink-wrap and foam padding.  This most likely came in a a cardboard box, with corner "L" pieces to protect the corners and stabilize the box.  There would be no reason to wrap the dw in plastic.  There would probably have been a single sheet of plastic covering just the top.

That looks a great deal like the Kenmore DW my Aunt Doris got in the summer of '68. We were visiting them, and went to Sears with her when she bought it. My cousin Melanie (age 5 at the time) kept saying I like it, I like it, I like it! for several days. She still remembers its arrival.

It's SUPPOSED to be mine . . .?

. . .we'll see, though. Just spoke to the lady who's selling it for a client, and she says she will ask the owner to hold it till I can make the drive down from the Bay Area in a week or two. She is a visiting nurse, and it belongs to one of the patients she attends. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Good luck with your new dishwasher. I hope the seller is honest and everything goes well for you. It's nice to see someone appreciate an item like this.

Thanks, Travis!

I am trying to arrange a Paypal payment. A co-worker, who lives in SoCal and goes home on the weekend, may be able to retrieve it for me.

The lady handling the transaction has a long disused Paypal account, she will try to figure out how to use it. Her elderly clients do not likely know what Paypal is! I hope it all works out.

Steve

yes, be very cautious

I was a victim of identity fraud just yesterday.
Chase sent me a fraud alert, and as I was speaking with them, whom ever was trying to change my address to Brooklyn NY on my credit card was calling back on another Chase line still trying after they had spent $3,000.oo at a Best Buy in Brooklyn. They were tracing the call.
I immediately notified Trans union, my other cards, and my bank.

Kenmore Roto Rack

The dishwasher was around the 1970 Era. They washed like heck, but was loud as hell. If you had a open floor plan, there was no escaping the roar. On the plus side, they used plenty of water, and could pretty much handle anything.

Last Of The D&M Built KM TLing DWs

It is around the last of these TL portable D&Ms. About the only good thing I can say about it is the TLers were a lot less likely to leak than the front loading models. And as far a top loading portables go these were fairly quiet in operation because of the double wall tub and some models actually had sound insulation as well.
