Well, let's see April, May, June, and now almost done with July. Four months using this ice box and I've some thoughts on how well it performs.

In a word, lousy. For several reasons I might add.
1. Cannot set the controls to get 37/0 temp. I can get the freezer maybe down to 10 above while the fresh food is 38-40. This is with the temp cranked almost all the way over to cold
2. On defrost cycle, freezer compartment gets warm. Warm enough to turn my Cookies and Cream ice cream almost to slush. I have taken to rising and filling gallon milk jugs to place in freezer to offer some measure of cooling while on the lengthy defrost cycle.
3. T-stat allows very wide swings in fresh food compartment. Temp range goes from 38-45 and when the compressor does have a mind to come on, it runs, runs, runs, runs, then runs some more. First Energy loves me as a customer I'm sure.
4. Loud. Loudest ice box I have been around. Gurgles, burps, creaks, groans and makes a noticeable buzzing sound due to the tiny compressor running it's guts out. Once a neighbor came over the help me put up the curtains; more than once he accused me of breaking dirty wind. I laughed and told him no, it is the ice box making all that noise. Not sure if he believed me or not on that one but it is true I tell you.
5. Wire shelves suck. Only 2 positions to place them besides. Put a full gallon jug of water on one of them and watch it sag.
6. Humidity controls on the veg/fruit drawers are impossible to move unless I find some WD40 or something.
7. Cannot level the effing thing. No provisions at all for this. I moved it all the way out just to make sure I was not missing anything. I didn't miss anything at all let me tell you. As it stands now, I have to constantly remind myself to give the fresh food door a good shove to ensure it is closed. Once I left for work with it barely open, thinking it was closed, came back 11 hours later and the temp was almost 60 in the fresh food compartment whilst the freezer was almost at zero (that door was closed all day). I'm sure I shaved several years of durability off the tiny compressor doing that.
8. Stainless front looks cool, shows every fingerprint known to humanity. Doubt I will replace it with another stainless unit even if it means a mismatched kitchen.
9. No light in the freezer compartment and had I not removed the chinese made wire shelf, I would not be able to fit in the ubiquitous 1.5L ice cream container, much less the gallon milk jugs frozen solid.

I posted a review on their website and emailed Electrolux USA about the t-stat performance which I find seriously deficient. Also the whole unit, yup EVERYTHING, it a measly 1 year warranty. I can assure you once it breaks out of warranty, it's outta here!

CR wasn't impressed with its temperature control ability, either. Every refrigerator I've had has been a WCI/Electrolux, and they do make some odd sounds. The 2002 fridge in the kitchen makes a sound (during defrost) that sounds like someone breaking a piece of styrofoam.

All have been very reliable. A 1990 model in the break room at work has needed no service.

The wire shelves on your model look flimsy. CR rates it poor for ease of use, which includes flexibility of shelving as well as setting controls to provide the 37/0 temps.

With all Frigidaire appliances, my policy is buy TOL or look elsewhere.

Amazingly enough Frig

the DW is a BOL contractor grade unit. Albeit noisy, it does clean very well when Cascade Platinum paks are used. In fact it is exclusive to Lowes (not that it matters much). Sure it could use some refinements but it cleans well, in fact I rate it higher than the GE I had at the condo. Interesting to see 2 different units, both contractor grade, one does well the other......meh.

Still, my Big Red stays somewhat cold. Nothing like cracking open a sugar sweetened bottle of bubble gum on a hot day let me tell you!

Still learning the Whirlpool oven. One thing I can say it it is sloooow to reach temp and the elements kick off about 20 degrees below the set point. Thank god for my Sunbeam oven thermometer otherwise I'd have raw garlic bread with my pasta on Sunday dinner.

OTOH, the cooktop burners are very nice, much quicker to respond than the Caloric and do maintain a full boil.
