Why are all the cars backed into the parking spaces?

In the Value Village picture. It's illegal to back into a parking space in my city. I would just think it would tie up the street too long while people were backing in.

Probably takes less time than if they were parallel parking, which, at least here, you need to demonstrate for the inspector before getting your license.

And, if VV is as good as some say, that's about 20' les that you'll have to haul your goodies!

And what if i dont mind hauling my goodies?

Perhaps it is a private (off-street) prking lot and the sign says one may do so.

I had read that rump-in-first parking is actualy much safer. You get to see what's going on as you pull out.

(oh lawd someone is going to crucify me for that one....)

Why are all the cars backed in?

The street in front of Value Village is rather narrow. The wonderful city of Seattle decided that cars should be backed in. Of course no one can do a great back-up job...they seldom get between the lines and it's a mess! The building was originally the first store for REI. It's got very old creasoted beams and great lite. I never have much luck there. I tend to stick to the outlying areas. And I'm trying to cut back!!
