Three bucks. It cleaned up nicely. The motor works but I haven't put anything in it yet to see if it leaks. Weighs a ton. Does anyone know how to date it from the serial number?

Nice score for sure! I don't have any knowledge about Oster blenders as far as serial numbers go, but can see that yours is a heavy duty model. You should still be able to find replacement parts for anything that might cause a leak, and probably at your handy ACE Hardware store.

I've Got One Of Those As Well

Nearly MIB fleaBay find from years ago. Hardly ever used, but is one powerful beast with all or mainly metal inside (hence the weight). Will pulverise everything from ice to nuts. Great for making frappes and even light to medium batters.

The glass jar is heavy so mind how you go when handling including washing as don't think they can be found new anymore.

Maybe narrowed it down

I searched ebay ads and found examples from 1950, 53, 54 and 60. The earlier ones had a simple toggle switch and the newer ones had a different style rotary switch. They also were "Deluxe" models, "Super Deluxe" like mine so the emblem by the switch is different.

Hmmm... thought I narrowed it down but seems like I didn't!

Thats Freaky..................I just got the same one from a thrift store today, I paid 4.50, at first I thought it was a Waring blender from the beehive base design, till they got it off the top shelf for me.....I left it at my other house, will get a pic asap, but its the same one....

Nice score. I have a slightly newer version, and I like the details on yours much better. How 'bout a close-up of the area around the control knob?

Very nice. You'll find it very powerful. On an aside, is that a Universal percolator posing behind your Oster? It's yummy, too.

I have the same Osterizer from 1963. It came in the original box, never used!
As an avid fan of these blenders, I can say with pretty good confidence that your model is the generation before mine. 1957-58 range!
Enjoy it. You will have it for many years to come. As for the percolator behind it, that is a Sunbeam from the 1955-56 era.

The Sunbeam is that old? Cool! I figured 60s sometime. It's a daily driver, got it hooked up to a timer. Makes great coffee.

Here's a closeup of the Oster switch:
