I posted pics awhile back of the owner's manual of a Norge I saw at another thrift store. Todd waited for half-price day and snatched it up. We ran her (Norgiegirl) today and she works fine, also with no leaks. The model number is LWA-7020S and we're trying to date it. It is tan and the manual also says Fedders on it. 1970 or 1972? When did Fedders take over Norge and when did manufacturers start using that color? Oh, and the SQ is named "Queenie".

Ooooh, very nice find Jay!! Would love to find one of my own to watch the action...only Norge I've seen wash in person is the solid-tub! Are the strokes faster than those machines or are they about the same? And how are the transmission oil seals on this machine?

Burp Up

Again my thanks to Jay for taking pics & posting for me.

I love those burp up filters and all the noise these machines make. This machine is much quieter than my 1975 Montgomery Ward machine, believe it or not. I have a feeling it must be later 70s or even early 80s, since it's in almond. When did appliance manufacturers begin using the almond color?

Neighbors of mine had the Wards Signature version. I recall the tub seemed humongous next most brands' tubs of the day. And it made a most wonderful CLANK if you lifted the lid during the spin cycle. The tub would come to an almost immediate halt. What a great find! Congrats!
