Thrifting in Sherbrooke

Well, I think I have found myself a little ol' vintage gold mine! I was told about a thrift store in Sherbrooke, Quebec (about 45 minutes from Ogden) and on my first visit, I found the Maytag DE700 dryer there. So, this past weekend, while Hubby was safely away in Alaska, I took a drive back there. I also checked out the Sally Ann store there and well, I think I did pretty well!
First find: a set of dishes for 6 - real gold trim, no less - and an excuse to use the 'Fine China and Crystal' cycle on the 62 Turquoise Mobile Maid!

Next up: a Turquoise steam iron! It's a Viking (from the old Eatons department store) but it looks very Proctor-Silex to me!

Last find at the Salvation Army store: beaters for a Hamilton-Beach mixer (probably a Model H or J...). Definitely worth the quarter they charged me!!

So, now it was on to Estrie-Aide (like a Goodwill). How could anyone pass on an Oster Kitchen Centre and bowls (well, the just the mixer part) especially in Harvest Gold!

And because I love vintage coffee makers, there was no way I was going to walk by this Jet-O-Matic perk! It is in absolutely mint condition!!

Couldn't pass up this old Silex vacuum pot, either! Still in excellent shape, too! The upper bowl seal is still nice and soft.

And finally, a brass magazine rack. The 'maple leaf' design matches a TV lamp that I have, too!
Not bad for a total of 26.25!!

Yes, I am pretty sure that's a rebadged Proctor-Silex iron.

China pattern on those dishes

I will have to look again when I get back to Ogden this weekend. I ran them through the dishwasher but didn't get a chance to unload them!
I think I saw that they were made in England, though.

Finally... the china pattern info

Sorry for the delay in posting this! It slipped my mind...
The only marking on the plates was 'Royal Knight' which may be both the pattern and the manufacturer. They were made in Staffordshire, England (not far from where my late mother was born).
I think I may get to use them this weekend!
