liquid........has anyone tried this? I have to say this detergent really does a great job in the Calypso. Barely generates any suds and cleans so well in any water temperature.

We had a little mishap here with hair color. Some dark brown dye accidently got on a light blue broadcloth shirt. It went unnoticed until the color developed; so about an hour had passed. When I rinsed the color off a dark brown stain about the size of a quarter was left behind......I applied some full strength Tide on the spot, let it set overnight and rewashed. The stain was gone. Maybe another detergent would have done the same, but I've been really pleased with this Coldwater HE version and would be interested to hear from others.

If they would make a powder version then I would buy it but I do not like liquids even Tide which is what I use most of the time.I get a nasty sour smell the last Tide liquid that I used.

Actually got a box "free" via a coupon from P&G, when product was first launched.

Could'nt stand the scent, and as it was not "HE", didn't really work with my Miele, so gifted the stuff to dear Mother, along with a nearly full box of Tide w Bleach powder. Now that one has the Whirlpool portable up and running, am tempted to ask for one or more back, but not sure how that request would be received. *LOL*

I Swear:

P & G will not rest until there is a different Tide formula for every type, brand, model and colour of washing machine. I can see it now:

"New Tide HE LG Platinum! Why look at other detergents in colours that clash with your LG machine? New Tide HE LG Platinum harmonises with the beauty of your laundry pair, giving your washday a whole new restful feel! And remember - New Tide HE LG Platinum comes in your choice of four scents - Chanel No. 5, Prune Whip, Old Money and Heather on the Hill."

Remember "All Temp-A-Cheer?" We had some sense once.

The HE Coldwater product is available only in liquid form. It caught my attention as something to try, but I haven't yet.

I have a box of Coldwater powder that I use occasionally in the garage machines and for soaking/pretreating in the sink out there. I find the scent to be pleasant.

My extra-size bottle of Tide HE regular scent is nearly gone, may have to try a couple of the new flavors. The cleaning power of Tide HE is outstanding, it's the only pre-spot treatment I use in any load or any machine and I'm never disappointed in the cleaning. I've been wanting to try the "Free" version as well...

I use liquid Tide Coldwater HE and it works very well---as long as you have temp-controlled cold water. The new liquid cleans stains better than the powdered version. If your cold water is below 60 degrees and you don't have a temp-controlled option on your machine, I suggest you use warm water. Its cleaning power drops off quickly below 60 degrees.

I checked CR's ratings, and it is the #2 rated HE detergent, after Tide with Color Clean Bleach HE.

My new find: I received coupons from Proctor & Gamble for Downy, Tide Stain Release and Gain. So I picked up liquid Gain with Bleach Alternative ($2.00 off) and really like the scent. It's in the middle of the pack in CR's ratings, but I don't plan to use it on stained loads.

I'm rolling!

"your choice of four scents - Chanel No. 5, Prune Whip, Old Money and Heather on the Hill."

Tim:

Glad you enjoyed that. Remember, if you have a red LG laundry pair, New Tide HE LG Platinum is not for you. You'll need New Tide HE LG Candy Apple, which comes in Banana Bubble Gum, New Rolls-Royce Interior, Tiptoe Thru the Tulips and Old Parisian Brothel scents.
