Tide Ultra Stain Release HE Turbo

It wasn't my idea, but that lot at laundromat. Was gifted a half bottle of the stuff by someone who didn't want (that should have been my first clue), so gave it a try in the Miele with some badly stained table linens.

Cleaned well enough I suppose, but didn't shift stains well as hoped. But the smell was horrid IMHO; quite bowled one over. Later when ironing the wash could detect a faint whiff of bug killer.

My favorite non-USA detergent is Persil Bio powder. It was the clearest-rinsing detergent I'd ever used prior to Rosalie's Zero Suds. Purchased it online for a couple of years through britsuperstore.com, but the outrageous shipping charges eventually steered me back to Tide. That and Persil Proclean 2-in-1 are now my daily drivers.

I use Perwoll Black Effect (formerly Black Magic/Black Intensive) for black clothes. Perwoll's price went through the roof at amazon.com so I tried Woolite For Dark Colors and blacks went dusty-grey almost immediately. I wear a ridiculous amount of black clothing each week and keeping everything looking new is vital.  Lesson learned. Coughed up the cash and went straight back to Perwoll. Detergent is cheaper than new clothing.

I have an LG Turbodrum, it's an older model than yours. Does yours fill all the way to the top? If yes, have you considered Persil Handwash for Handwash and Twintubs?

foraloysius - Mine weighs the laundry before and selects appropriate water level, usually just covering the laundry. I can manually select water level 10 which is the entire tub. The manual calls for low sudsing detergent preferably made for FL But now I'm curious how your machine works! lol

On my Turbodrum you can select the water level in any cycle, but on a few it does it automatically when you don't select a level. Here's a thread about my LG.

foraloysius- thanks! I've attached a pictures of mine, usually when doing laundry it's just at a water level 3 or if doing bedding and towels its at 5

It has four water temp settings, cold, warm, hot or hot+cold (50/50)

Frigilux - It spinns the clothes for 60 to 120 minutes it's supposed to create a flow of air in the tub, it can get my dress shirts dry in over an hour. So pretty much light fabrics, I can select up to 5 rinses! Why anyone would want that Idk!

"Fuzzy"

I presumed that the 'Fuzzy' option is an automatic, sensor controlled programme. Probably like Panasonic's 'Econavi Autocare' programme - i.e. sensors calculate the best wash rhythm based on the laundry weight, water absorption, detergent composition and incoming water temperature.

AEG had 'Advanced Fuzzy Logic' on their machines.

Basically, Fuzzy Logic is supposed to give the onboard computer more options than the usual 'true or false', 'yes or no', 'on or off' statements.

So instead of filling with a large amount of water for one shirt, and heating that water to a certain heat, and washing for a certain amount of time, etc. Fuzzy logic might do as modern machines do, adapt to each load.

According to the manual of my LG, the Air dry cycle can also be used for drying the machine. You use the cycle without any laundry then.

TBH I think they're the same, they act the same in the laundry water and the laundry feels the same

Tide Pods have just been changed, they are no longer white, blue and orange liquid. They're now green, blue and white to match Ariel.

Unsure if the scent is the same (don't think it is likely, as Tide has always been a different scent to Ariel, whether it is powder, liquid or pod).

Unsure if you know, but the Daz pods the in the UK has "TIDE/VIZIR/DAZ" printed on the back. (There is a thread on here somewhere as I posted pictures), will try and find it.

liamy1 - I know that they recently changed the pods but the American Food Shop in Holland Park hasn't got the new ones :/ I think I even mentioned the Tide/Daz/Vizir earlier in the thread and I have used the Daz pods as well

I've not used Tide (or any US detergent) for some time now, so unsure if anything has changed in relation to smell.

If you do see any of the new ones make it over here, you will have to compare and let us know.

I think the last one I had was the 72 box of Tide "Alpine" Pods (they don't make it anymore though).

It smelt nothing like Alpine, and certainly nothing like Ariel Alpine from about 15 years ago, but they did smell really nice all the same.

Anytime you like. It is on sale at local shop in our street often enough anyway.

Easiest thing to ship one shouldn't wonder would be the powder or pods. Liquid is not only too bulky but there is a risk of leaking. Indeed one never bothers with having liquid detergents sent from Europe. Why pay to ship all that water?[this post was last edited: 8/28/2017-17:51]

Pods are on offer this week. However as one said, these offers seem to occur every fortnight or so... Dryer sheets (Bounce) are on offer as well. Usually it is all P&G laundry products at a go when the offer occurs.

You get access denied because you want to access the website from outside the USA. I was able to open the link by using Secureline VPN and change my location to NYC. I had to use a valid postal code too to get access to what's on offer. Some American companies really hate foreigners snooping around on their website.

How stupid that kind of attitude is, but it fits perfectly into current zeitgeist of nationalism. Don`t these companies know how many foreigners visit the USA every
year ?
And any foreigner on their sites could be a potential customer looking for information ahead of a visit.

Instead of using a proxyserver I try to boycott these companies by not spending my dollars there whenever possible. Thank god there`s other competitors (Walgreens) where we are still welcomed.

Sorry about that, one had no idea.

But when you think about things there is a method to the madness one supposes.

It isn't like Rite Aid has stores outside of USA, nor does it have a mail order or internet service.

For the record plenty of websites block access to those outside of a certain geographical area. There's Youtube for a start.

As one who is always nosing around the internet searching for vintage appliances, laundry products and so forth, it is not uncommon to click upon a link from say a Google image or other search only to get "access denied" in various languages for reasons pretty much boiling down to out of area.

To also be fair many persons selling or whatever things on internet don't want to be bothered with international sales.

Sometimes the self detection works in one's favor.

Seeking replacement part for my AEG washer went over to Homespares.com UK; was at once given a "slider" message saying one could save 20% (the VAT) if went to their North American/USA address. Upon clicking "yes" was sent over and price of part did drop accordingly. Turns out to be even cheaper than what some are selling unbranded AEG/Electrolux part for on fleaPay.

Hello everyone!

I ordered some Tide He Turbo Original liquid today, they're delivering it tomorrow.

Does anyone know how much I should use approximately? I have hard water and I'm still using my TL which is a HE machine, it holds 14.3lb / 6.5kg worth of laundry.
