Had a coupon for this product, and hadn't been getting outstanding results from Sears detergent+STPP with nasty white been-out-mowing-the-lawn ankle socks, even at 155F in the Miele. Tried one of these packets in the wash, and all I can say is "Wow!" It's HE approved, fragrance free, dye free, chlorine free, and really does seem to do the trick! I've been using it in colored loads as well, and things are brighter. I don't know if I could be getting the same results with Clorox 2, or just using more STPP (1 tsp.) or more than 1/2 scoop of Sears detergent per load in the smaller Miele.

They are pricey, tho'. Paid $5.50 (after $1.00 coupon) for 18 packets. But, hell, I'll spend $35.00 for a box of Miele DW tabs, so, if I get the results....

Reviews and Comments

It seems that there are quite a few people that are satisfied with this product. I only read one bad review on the website. However, I wonder if this person used it only by itself with no detergent?

Tide Stain Release

I really like it. I buy the big bottle regular liquid. I do not use it as an in-wash booster because I don't need to with Ariel detergent. I use the Stain Release as a pre-treat and it's great. You pour some directly on the stain, let it set for a bit then wash. I have much better results with this than I've had with Clorox 2 or Spray and Wash.

It's the only Tide product I buy and many times the sunday paper has a 3 or 4 dollar off coupon. That's pretty good savings to me.

Glad they are offering a Free version now. I'm pre-treating everything now with Persil Color Gel (in an old, tiny Dawn dish detergent bottle to get a few drops at a time) and I admit that it is tedious to get every single spot when we've been frying something and get some spatter on a dark shirt. May have to keep these in mind as a drop-in "big gun" to tackle the whole load.

That being said, I've never found ~anything~ the Persil gel wouldn't get out, including dryer set oil-on-cotton which is about the toughest thing I've found. I'd hope these would work as well.
