Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I performed the purposely stained towel test using 60 grams of powdered Tide Professional. You know the drill: The towel was stained and allowed to dry for 12 hours before laundering.

Washer: Speed Queen 7009 front-loader; Normal Cycle; Warm water; Max soil level (50 minute wash tumble).

Detergent: 60 grams of powdered Tide Professional detergent.

The “after” towel shown is damp from the washer, as were the towels in the tests above.

At this point, Tide Professional is the one to beat. The Rao’s Marinara stain was lightened; the Frank’s Hot Sauce was lightened a bit. Still the toughest stain for all the tested detergents. Mustard, ketchup, Worcestershire Sauce, Coffee, Barbecue Sauce and Hershey’s chocolate syrup were all vanquished or came darn close to being vanquished.

When selecting a warm wash on the Normal cycle using the max soil level selected, the warm water is truly warm—around 100 degrees F.

I’d like to try the same test using the cool water temp, which should bring the temp down to around 75-80.

Color me impressed!

I performed one final test of powdered Tide Professional, this time in cool (75-80 degrees F) water. Follow the link to see the towels in Jetcone’s “Cold water washing has arrived” thread. Interestingly, the results using cool water were slightly worse than when using warm water.
