Hi, was thinking

we'd try one next. Large capacity top loaders use a lot of water for large loads, or items.
Our gym has two for towels. One new Samsung, which replaced a Whirlpool, and one LG. I don't know if they had 2 Whirlpools before, or Lg's, or one each.
So a few weeks ago, I asked the owner which lasted the longest. He has a tech do repairs who told him durability us about equal, but parts more readily available for the Korean machines. Beats me, there seem to be plenty of parts available online for either. A drum/tub spider and bearings for ex. costs less for an LG or Samsung on Amazon, etc. I didn't price pumps, control boards, encoders, etc.

If we assume these are the only two options to pick from,

I'd go with the second one, the chw9160gw. A few reasons: The front panel that allows access to the pump filter. The washer design that allows individual part replacement in the tub and basket assembly -- If you look at an exploded diagram of the first one, you'll see that the entire basket and tub assembly is the only way to get parts from Whirlpool where the second machine allows individual components to be replaced. Also, yes this effectively a commercial machine for the home and I've had much better luck with the button switch controls on the commercial machines than the touch buttons on the residential machines.

Hey Chris

It’s been too long stranger.

Why don’t you come over to my place with a load of laundry and check out the Speed Queen FL before you decide?

I have no idea what I would buy if I were in the market but you might as well test drive what you can— and we could catch up same time.

Looks like the commercial one can be programmed for a 17 minute wash plus you can add an extra 3 minutes with another option for a maximum 20 minute wash.

I could live with that but it's not ideal for a home machine.
