Time to go washer shopping for me.

Well as posted before the Bosch F.L. has had it and I have had it checked over by a repairman hoping that it may only be the rubber seal around the door as some friends here have advised, but however it is not only the seal which has gone, the motor has gone which was only replaced 13 months ago and water has somehow gotten to some of the electrics and damaged it so that is it the blasted thing is not worth the trouble anymore.
I have decided what I will do is buy a reconditioned 2nd hand T.L. for all the really large items i.e. blankets, doonas and even the dogs blankets from the kennels, and I will also trade in the little N.E.C. Twinnie for a larger family-size Twinnie for all of our day-to-day clothing which will become our main machine from now on.
I was going for the Hitachi P.S.70P 6kg Twinnie however they only give you 12months warranty and just very recently Haier have released their 6kg Twinnie which comes with a full 5 year warranty so now I am leaning towards that one.
Oh! decisions, decisions, hhhhmm has anyone ever had any experience with a Hitachi or Haier Twinnie who might be able to help,any advice would be much appreciated .

Sorry about your bad luck with the Bosch. Maybe it's another brand in decline, outsourcing its products? I have a pretty large collection of power tools of various brands and qualities, several of my favourites are Bosch. Recently my cheap Ozito delta sander needed a couple of minor parts, the cost of which was more than the whole tool. I decided to get a better sander instead, and bought a Bosch. It was incredibly rough and noisy, and vibrated horribly. When not switched on you could shake the unit and hear/feel the motor rattling inside the casing. I took it to a repairer and asked for an opinion, he said it was definitely faulty so I returned it to Bunnings for a replacement. I asked the salesman there to test the new one, it was just the same. We checked several more, all the same. They were all labelled "made in Hungary". I went to several Bunnings stores and all their stock was made in Hungary and all had the same noise and vibration. Then I noticed in one store that their display unit was quite dirty, suggesting it had been there a long time. It was labelled "made in Switzerland." I asked if we could plug that one in - it ran beautifully, smooth as a Swiss watch. I went home with the ex-display sander which has worked hard without fault. I phoned Bosch office in Melbourne and told them what I'd found. Last time I looked all those sanders have disappeared from the stores and are NLA. (There is no replacement yet..) Doesn't say much for their quality control...

On your twin tubs... personally I'd buy a Hitachi, you are really shopping for a washing machine not a warranty, Hitachi machines have been around for decades and and are superbly reliable. I have only ever heard bad things about Haier.

Reco 2nd hand top loader - what brand are you thinking of? I'd recommend a Hoover 720, just about indestructable and they wash really well without fuss. Later models are much cheapened but the 720 is a gem. Check with a repairer but I believe parts are all still available.

Hi! Steve, here is my 2-cents worth. As with what Guys have mentioned about American Washers, if you have Pets {Dogs or Cats} with a lot of Fur, you might want to consider {if available} an older Hotpoint with the Filter Flow Dish. The Guys who have the American-Made GE Filter Flow Washers have said that they are the absolute best for collection and not redistributing Lint into the Filter Pan and not onto the Laundry.

As far as a Twin-Tub, I'm sorry that I can't help you there, because we don't have any here any more in the US, but if we did, I would certainly look into either a Hoover or a Maytag.

Thanks for the advice Chris, I really appreciate it yes I was thinking something along the line of a Hoover 720 or perhaps even one of the older Simpsons however this is a little bit down the track my most pressing problem at the moment is the new T.T. for which I am very grateful for your input but as of last friday I have decided to try the Haier which I have posted elsewhere in this deluxe forum.
You know what was really galling for me though I have now had to submit to my neighbour (best mate as well),who told me I was a silly fool for buying a front loader in the first place and I deserved to lose out over it.
It would appear he was right after all.

Steve, tell your lovely neighbor that you think he put a curse on your Bosch and killed it, so you are going to ask the local aboriginal shaman to "point the bone" at his fridge, which should cause it to die within a week or two. (On second thought...)

You would not believe it my neighbours on the other side who also chided me for buying a front loader have just had a major breakdown with their Hoover T.L.,and I feel like saying to them so much for local stuff hey?, however it took a bit of a nasty side as well, you see my sister offered to do their laundry in the new T.T. for them, however they curtly told her no as they believe our T.T. would not clean properly.
Isn't it sad that peole can be so petty other something like that, however I simply told my sister that they can go fly as kite and bloody handwash in their bathtub then if that is how they feel.
Now all I need is for my first mate's Simpson to break down and I will have total vindication.

Hello Designgeek,
By any chance did you possibly put a curse on my neighbour's fridge?,because it broke down yesterday and they are having all sorts of trouble finding somewhere to put all their perishables. If you did thank you ever so much that will teach them for being so petty and nasty.
Just as an aside he now agrees that my T.T. is not such a bad little washer after all,especially with my success in getting rid of the dreaded skid marks,he has now asked me how to get rid of them!,L.O.L. L.O.L. L.O.L.!!!!
P.S.Yes I am helping them out with their perishables,I am storing some im my fridge-freezer until they sort their problem out, after all we are still friends and that's what friends are for after all.
