Hello out there. I am looking to find a timer for a PYE2200AYW dryer Maytag Performa. The cheapest online I found was $77.50. Anyone have another source possibly?
Thanks
Jay

How about...

P/N 53-1810 timer
Our Reno supplier has it in stock for $54.59 + shipping

Appliance Parts Co.

As a side question... Being very familiar with that model, why do you need a timer?

Oh Thank you for asking

Well....I picked the set up on CL and washer is fine, but dryer knob had difficulty turning. Which was not disclosed to me. I believe the indicator is off when you turn the knob to the setting. I pulled off the knob and have been turning it to the click of each setting. So far only one has dried the load of towels. I cannot get any heat out of the regular heat setting, only low. Is the timer knob supposed to turn both ways? I am a bit lost on this. I just assumed timer. I am sure there is another answer. Thanks RCD for asking.

Things that turn both ways...

The timer on that dryer can turn both directions. I'd look at the shaft of the timer knob to make sure it isn't split and the little metal spacer sleeve is in there to prevent slop. Otherwise, if the timer itself is incredibly difficult to turn, you most likely have a timer issue and will have to replace it.
There is a separate temp control switch (P/N 31001449) for hi/low/no heat. I'll include a schematic below if it helps.
