does anyone know of a diffrent source for timer repairs or rebuilders? am having an awful time with midwest. or is there a source for just the little elec motors on the timers?

Bad time with Midwest? Oh my. I haven't yet tried contacting them about getting a replacement/repair/rebuild for my WO-65.

Glenn, see if they sell just the motors...you could probably install that yourself...although it wouldn't be a bad idea to have it rebuilt either. Is it the motor that is the problem or is the timer itself not advancing properly by hand?

BTW, the water bellows pliers I bid on came in today; I bought them to use for the 1-18 and so far they're great (working on the 1-18 now...changing the spin seal). There's really no other way to get the snap ring off than this. I also recently bought an Ingersoll-Rand 1/2"-drive impact wrench and 13 MAC deep sockets...definitely comes in handy for stuck pulsator nuts! When you need to borrow them let me know!!

poor little motor

the little motor is pooped out. i sent it in to midwest for repair, they called and said yes they could fix it.. cost 55 bucks. they sent it back and it had the same motor on it. still would not work so i sent it back and they returned it saying they have no parts to repair the motor. so i called them told them the story and they said sorry we cant help you. the timer is clean and in great shape moves by hand smoothly and when doing that everything works, just wont advance by itself the little motor is shot. is there any source for those little motors????

There is a guy on the Appliance Forum that has a Hobart era KA with a possibly bad timer and wants to find a rebuilt one or possibly one salvageed from another machine. Don't know the model # yet, but he does live in Massachusetts

Is it a washer or dryer? Are you sure it is the motor itself? Have you done a voltage test at the motor to be sure voltage is getting to the motor? Also a coninuity test on the motor will confirm the motor circuit is open if it is bad. Or try to run voltage directly to the motor itself to see if it runs. I have had some washer timers not advance because of internal problems not related to the motor itself. Be sure it is the motor itself.

this tiimer is from a dryer.. i did try voltage directly to the motor with no luck. this timer is very simple and will do everything its supposed to by hand. am still on the search for little motors, there has to be a source for them

What brand/Model Number is the dryer? What numbers are on the timer motor. How many teeth on the gear? Might be able to help with more info.

hey, the timer has a number on it-- its cd-403 and its from a 51-52 kenmore-whirl elec dryer i hope this helps. if i could find a source for the little motors i could start my own little shop for repairs cause were all gonna need them one of these days
