Thank you all for the positive responses!

My intent for scanning and posting these brochures is to help preserve the era of when appliances were
interesting and had individuality.

The majority of my interest is in dishwashers, I know the club members are more interested in washing machines.

I am sharing my collection after 46 years of picking up what ever I could put my hands on and writing manufacturers
for these treasures!

Fortuatly we are in this age of computers, I can share all of these with you.

This is all about history...if you are not interested in dishwashers as much as washing machines, I can appreciate that!
We all are here because of the love of things that meant something.

Please look at the pictures with a different eye...especially the younger members.
How things were designed and evolved from an idea ...time and materials..every machine has beauty!

I will continue to scan and post as much as possible...I hope you are archiving, so we can preserve what we love!

Thank you for this organization....it has brought me many hours of entertainment and pleasure!

David

You deserve a lot of credit for this and thanking you is the easy part.

These are already igniting so many memories. You just reminded me about the effort I took to write GE, Maytag, Whirlpool, Hotpoint and Philco back then. It was no surprise that Maytag had the fastest response time; I usually received brochures and catalogues from them in one week, including that first dishwasher brochure you just posted with the WU and WP 600's and they all featured that same model. The others took two weeks or more (or not at all, sometimes) but the first time I wrote to GE I got a cornucopia of brochures and best of all, cut sheets!!! About twenty of them overall, with three-hole punches for a binder and it is killing me to think that me blessed Da might have thrown them all away during one of the moves. Not his fault, mine for not keeping track of them, but I did pack them myself in a box with a lot of valuable papers including a letter from Margaret Hamilton. Oh, I do hope  I will find them someday tucked away inside a crate or an overlooked case.

Thanks again; these are a pleasure to look at.

David, I don't know if I've actually said thank you.  Albeit practically have an "experience" and needing a cigarette after finally seeing the Americana dishwashers.  I'm one of the fwe who are really fascinated by dishwashers, but I love my washers too.  I have to tell you, seeing each one of your scans is like looking at a Picture of the Day several times in a designated period of time.  It's kind of nice to have new "PODs" because as long as I've been around, sometimes the old ones that keep reappearing get boring, but I tell myself it's for the benefit of the newer members.  Thank you again.  Bob

Fascinated

Hi David,
I'm 32 years old and wasn't around in the 1950's, 1960's and most of the 70's, and I'm not only fascinated by older washing machines of that time era, but also the other appliances, as well.

A lot of times, I feel like I came, "one generation too late." I really appreciate the quality and designs of past machines, they all had their own style, each machine.

I used to think my fascination with appliances was just me, only. I had no idea there were so many others that shared my interest. I was always afraid to tell people, "I like washing machines and watching them operate." Most people would look at me like I had 2 heads.

Keep scanning, I love to look at old brochures, too. Keep up the good work, and I want to be part of that preserving, too.

Andy

Washers...dishwashers...they're both wet...

And go 'round!!!...
David, I enjoy these scans tremendously...
They bring back such good memories of when I worked for WCI and the original Roper in the '80's...
You have inspired me to clean my closet so I can access my small stash of brochures...
Thanks again...

George

Thank You for the scans. I enjoy dishwasher and washer and Dryer pictures and the old use and care instructions. I buy them where ever I can find them.Carl

Thank you, especially for the Maytag dishwasher brochure. The one with the Tiffany lamps. I was missing that one. I will print it, in colors, and put each page in a plastic protector, and put them in my big Maytag dishwasher binder. I have every brochure of each models from the beginning to the end of the Maytag built dishwashers. The one you scanned this week end completed my binder, I think.

Thank you so much. I can now rest in peace. LOL.
