Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

At least the traffic moves... In our area we recently gained a 3-legged roundabout and damned if half the people can't figure it out. Plenty of markings, yield signs, and lots of press so people knew what to expect and how to negotiate it. A year later and I have seen both the bewildered come to a halt in the middle of the thing yielding to cars queing up, or my other favorite: I come charging down the hill entering the thing and the car in front of me comes to a full stop at the entrance with absolutely no one around <crickets chirping>.

ooooh aren't roundabouts fun?

They are a microcosm of the rest of society. Those (drivers) who have no concept that there are other people on the planet behave similarly in that situation, meaning in a roundabout.

Honestly there are American tourists visitng NYC that can't negotiate a revolving door to a store. It's all what you get used to and are exposed to.

Just one year ago my mother had no idea how to handle a front-loading washer. Now she has one.

former British colonies

As Brisnat has stated it is not so bad being a former British colony, things seem to work fairly smoothly here in Australia, although he is 100% right about the warm beer(yech!),and personally I prefer a non politically aligned Governor-General and State Governor as the Crown's representatives rather than an elected and thus political President.
Imagine the following scenario,Prime Minister Barack Obama vs Opposition Leader Sarah Palin in the American Parliament all you would need is a very distinguished and respected citizen to be made Governor-General.
Hey! that could make an interesting topic, any thoughts on sutiable candidates to be the U.S.A.'s first Governor-General?
Cheers folks.
Steve.

But isn't Harry a ginger? I thought those weren't very popular in England.

Ever since I had my first Fish & Chips at a chip shop in Knightsbridge some 30 years ago I loved the dish. But I always hold the peas. I have never been a fan of peas. Sometimes you can get a restaurant or pub to substitute carrots instead. Also, I can't have any type of battered fish without the malt vinegar. We always keep a bottle at home. I even put it on the chips as well.

I know what you mean about roundabouts. Recently a study has shown that having a roundabout is more energy efficient than having four corners at an intersection, so we can expect to see more of these. There is one subdivision in the Woodlands that is all roundabouts. It's funny to see some cars (usually with women drivers) go around and around 5 or 6 times before they can escape the damned thing because they don't know how to use them.
I used to love to see some of those huge rotarys in Europe where you have lorries, buses, minis and what not all going around and around 8 deep together! I think it would just confuse most Americans.
