Toastmaster displayed three new appliances, including a toaster, designed in Germany by F. A. Porsche (an industrial design firm started in the 1970s by Ferdinand Porsche, designer of the original Porsche 911 sports car) at the January Housewares Show in Chicago.

Actually Ferdinand Porsche died in 1951. This firm was started by Ferry Porsche, his son.

Model 1BB4

I couldn't find my model number there - it seems to skip right over the B4's going right from B3 to B5, so I wrote up and asked them about what year it is. I'm betting it's a mid 30's model. It's been in my possession for over 20 years and is one of the best, most reliable toasters I've known. I just love how it ticks counting time, and starts ticking faster as the whole unit warms up. These are known for their repeatability, as they never ever rufuse to toast, no matter how many slices in a row you throw at it.

I love mine.
