A big THANK YOU to whoever supplied the JC Penny's 1970 Solid-Tub Automatic Washer Service Manual. Taylor Avenue Hotpoints in Penny's clothing!!!! Nice cutaway of the Fountain-Filter agitator and interesting to note that GE was already putting GE parts onto these control panels before they started "Borging" their own. That BOL control panel, however, is pure adulterated Hotpoint. Say what you will about these flawed machines; they had style. Does anyone know if JC Penney's offered a version of the "Duo-Load"??
Interesting to note that JC Penney's corporate offices were on the Avenue of the America's in NYC. I, a native New Yucker, never heard of or saw a JC Penney's until I went away to college and heard other students talking about the stores in their home towns in the rest of the continental US and beyond. My roomates from the Carribean used to call them " Yay-See Bennies".
