This is only gonna get worse you know now that I officially retired last Friday and have bags o time now to devote to thrifting my life away.

Who all remembers or had one of these 8 track to cassette adapters. This one is in pretty minty shape. The original Rat Shack price tag is on the box $49.95.

And this nifty little Electrolux TriVac stick vacuum. Very well built little machine, this one has no real scars either so it probably didn't get much use. The handle slides out so you can use it as a handvac I guess, Not sure but there are probably some missing attachments.

Darn, there's my big feet in the way again LOL
The piece de resistance I found today I don't have a picture of because I immediately took it to my SIL's. She was wanting an area rug for her apartments living room so I said I would keep an eye out for one. If I didn't find one I figured I'd buy her a new one at Walmart or something. Well when I went into VV I saw a rug rolled up so over I went for a look, $17.98. I unrolled it figuring some cheap synthetic machine made "persian" rug a la Walmart, but no, it's the real thing, hand knotted in Iran 6 x 9 all wool Tabriz and not a mark on it. I'm a bit of a rug nut so I know the good stuff from the knock offs, fakes, and semi hand mades and this is the real thing. Would easily sell for +1000 in a store. I'll try and get a picture of it this Sunday if I remember to take the camera over for dinner.

Peter,

I have warned you about all of those cool finds in a previous thread. So don't be surprised if you wake up some morning and find a few things missing! HAHA! Just kidding.

kenwshesmonday-- Oh, I hear you, man! As if 8-tracks weren't unreliable enough, you'd add this little device to it and it was even worse. Do you remember having to jimmy the tape around in your machine to get it to play correctly? Haven't seen one in years, though. I'd forgotten all about them.

Get this one-

My parents NEVER had cassette tapes.
Too "complicated".
8-tracks UP THE WAZOO!

My father even had an 8-track tape player in the car.
It was screwed to this device to make it removable.
AS IF it would EVER have gotten stolen.

I mean~~~ once they saw the 1974 Ford Torino- (NO A/C no power anything.) In dark green with a plack pleather interior, you pretty much knew they were not gonna look inside.

Cheap? HA! dad was tighter than a clam's @$$. He used to straighten nails and re-use them when remodeling the basement. I SO KID YOU not.

I mean based on that, I look *relatively* normal!

What does that adapter do?

I have never seen one, does it con=>vert 8 track to cassette??
Pete why didn't you grab that Tabriz??

My folks are heading back to Iran this spring and they will be buying. They always like to tell my sister and me they are spending our legacy on carpets lots and lots of carpets!!So expect NOTHING!!
