I suppose almost any dishwasher is better than no dishwasher, BUT, these are thirsty machines with restrictive loading patterns. If nothing else, it gives you a place to store dirty dishes OR, it can be filled with clean dishes and put at the start of a buffet line at an appliance collectors' gathering and people can reach in for their dishes and silverware as they start through the line and then after the meal, they can reload it and wheel it to the sink.[this post was last edited: 4/12/2023-22:13]

If it's still got the sticker on the inside of the tub, it is new. Only a couple of washes will cause it to disintegrate.
It would almost be criminal to use it. I would think some of the rubber parts have dried out by now anyway.

Have to figure out what to do with my GE Mobile Maid. Haven't used it in ages so it really should go in order to free up space.
These are decent enough dishwashers once you get racking limitations down (such as having to remove half top rack to get at lower, but all and all thrill is gone.
Main complaint is darned thing destroyed tons of dishes and glass ware. Entire set of every day china one has had for ages have been reduced to horrid state of dark grey marks, ditto for cups and mugs. Issue is force of water causes things to shift and rub against tines. Dark or deep coloured items may not show this damage, but white, tan, creme or any other light colour will.

Launderess, were the tines losing their coating? Have you tried baking soda on a soft cloth or a mild polish like toothpaste or Flitz or Wenol on a soft cloth?
Tines and racks are in near perfect condition, its just how this particular dishwasher behaves.
