Neat - it looks like a later incarnation of the Electra! Is it me or does it look the whole upper rack lifts up with the lid??

This is the exact top loading machine I have in my kitchen, its a KD-5 it says Vari-cycle on the lower part of the front. Two thirds of the top rack lift with the lid there is also section across the back of the tank that stays put when the top is raised. Its a good performer overall, a little noisy with the single wall tub. It uses the same filter that the 15 series built-ins did which becomes a gunky mess if you use the machine much, it uses the same motor and most of the pump parts of the 15 - 17 machines. This to me is one of the best KA TL portables to have if you want one in your collection.
