My parent's bought that W/D for my sister around 1959-1961. Of course she didn't want it so guess who took it and played with it until it broke ???

I have two of that same toy. One with the box, one without. They are cute. I also have one that is just the washer alone.

I remember going through at least

3 sets of those as a kid, loved them, the rubber bands broke quite quickly in the back they just crumbled, and the one I actually tried water in failed permanently. I always thought it was a cop out they put an agitator in the washer and not a tumbler! They had tops originally with windows and red and green lenses.

Ditto with kenmore58. My sister got one from Santa Clause and I got a Mattel cement truck. We traded and my Dad had a fit but i didn't care!

The belt (if need be) can be replaced with a rubber band.the works are neat too.

yeah, what's with the "center-post agitator?"

Didn't they know Westinghouse Laundromats had taken the thrashing blades of the old fashioned center-post agitator and placing them on the sides of the tub, creating the new way to wash -- "revolving agitator" action.
