I think someone has been swigging the metal polish before deciding the listing price of this one!

I know that folks in US seem to come across NIB items that are many, many years old but over here its is MUCH rarer for that to happen

I would date it as around 1970 or so. No matter if it has been used or not (and its strange that the oven itself does look in new condition but the paint has been worn off the ratings plate as if from constant cleaning) in my opinion it is certainly not worth £1,000.00.

Tricity Oven

This oven is one of the most frequently seen British made oven on ebay, but it was around in one form or another for nearly 20 years.

The link shows one currently on ebay. It is close to me being in SW London, but I am sure it will not be long before one crops up closer to you. I wont be going for it myself as I already have, and use, a vintage Neff oven

Hi Al

Hi Al
Thanks for the link, Im watching that one on Ebay right now, Im a little worried about the condition of it though, although they do say that it just needs a good clean up and the pen marks will come off! I watched one a few years ago on Ebay, it was in St Andrews and the guy said it had never been used! Alas no pics of it and i wasnt at the stage to buy it.

What age is your vintage Neff?

Here is another Tricity for you. This would be an early/mid 1980s model, and in FAR better condition than the previous one listed.

Fan oven this time rather than one with rotisserie - it really DOES look mint although sadly even further away from you than the last one

Thanks Al!

Hi Al,
I have that one on my watch list on Ebay ;-) It does look in brilliant condition.. My parents friends had one just like it in the early 80s... but yes, even further away than the last one... which by the way went for 99p!!

I was watching Floyd on food yesterday and there were a couple of NEFF double ovens in the background...

I saw this on flickr
A lady put the pic on saying that her Nans appliances were all over 30 years old and still going strong... I hope she doesnt mind me putting it on here!!

Neff, Belling & Tricity

The two Neff ovens shown above are the same as mine, shown below. This is the final iteration of this style which had been round for quite a while, the earlier version not having a fan oven. I am so glad to have this oven, I bought a similar one new in 1985 (brown with foldaway handle and knobs) which was the best oven I have ever used. Foolishly I replaced this in around 2000 when I got a new kitchen, the replacements never worked as well.

You are quite right, Hester's oven is a series 1 Belling Format. This is an "oven and a half" - the also produced a single oven version (With grill in the oven - the first of its kind produced in the UK I believe) and double oven version with two full size ovens. Its not clear from the picture but the bulk of the controls were behind a hinged flap.

And finally yet another Tricity! But its the hob I particularly like, I always thought it was the most stylish electric hob produced in the UK.

Here is my Neff oven - its a 1056 so full size fan oven with second "half" oven and grill

I have that dishwasher! Got it for free too and nothing was wrong with it! Ridiculous prices from greedy sellers, eBay should set up some kind of thing to stop this practice.

Hi Al,
Thanks for all the info... Your NEFF Double Oven looks really good there, thanks for posting the pic! No, it was'nt me for the Tricity Stainless Steel unfortunately, I noticed that it went for 99p so someone got a bargain! The white and brown versions are still on Ebay with no bids. I agree with you about the Creda hob, it looks really good and they both look in good condtion too! I will check the Creda Oven out in Wakefield... thats a bit closer! Thanks for the offer of the cuppa tho, if I was collecting an oven it would be well needed.

And in Sleaford

Well they just keep on coming

Actually this is like an exact update of the white oven shown above, as both the oven AND the hob are later versions of those two. This could well be the last iteration of this oven (mid 1980s) which was around in more or less this form from the mid-1960s although the basic design goes back to around 1960 or so
