Friends and I went to the Loire valley in France last week. When visiting the supermarket I spotted this rather unusual outdoor laundry set up. Sorry I didn't get more pics but I was getting funny looks from the customers!

Most unusual for a launderette machine to have a 90deg program, they must have big heaters as the machine stated all program's are complete in 30mins. Unfortunately I did not get to see them in operation.

I did not take a picture of the washing machine in the cottage where we stayed, it was a 1200rpm new Indesit. I had to get some of this to try though!Smelt heavenly and washed really well. Was dying to bring back some French detergent but we were limited to 10kg baggage on the plane. I had taken some photo's of the detergent isles on my phone but they did not come out for some reason, grrrrrr.

There were not that many powders but lot's of liquid including Skip, Chat, Dash2in1, Ariel (big bottle) Ariel Excel Gel, Henkel Persil and what appeared to be the supermarkets own brand. Powders were Persil, Skip, Henkel Persil and Dash2in1.

Unfortunately

on our return home we discovered that our upstairs neighbours had flooded us....this is the second time in three weeks!!! The flood was that bad this time that the water had traveled down two floors to the old lady on the ground floor. We used all our holiday clothes and all our towels mopping up, luckily the weather was good and I managed to get all seven loads of washing dried outside in relays. The good news is that hubby agreed we need a dryer, I ordered it online and will be delivered on Saturday. Thread will be started in Deluxe, I must admit I am overly excited about it!!

As for the flood damage I will need to get quotes for new carpets, new ceilings in the kitchen and bathroom and possible floor replacement as the floors are chip board. The flat stinks of damp, we have had all the windows open to try and dry the place out. I am so mad at the neighbours, they obviously did not report the leak straight away as the sheer amount of water is greater than the last time this happened.
