this storm has been a nightmare for the residents of Florida. Now, she (Fay), has parked her butt off the coast of Daytona Beach as she continues to dumps huge amounts of rain with high winds.
According to local meteorologists, she is not moving, but is projected to once again make landfall and cross the peninsula of Florida

I have lived through tropical storms and hurricanes before, but this is unreal!

I can only imagine what the home owners insurance rates will be next year! <ugh> =(

Shane

Hang in there and stay safe. I'm glad to see you still have electricity and can post. Keep us up on anything you hear. I thought this would have moved up and been in Georgia by now. The local weather guys have been saying everyday it was coming here but it looks like Fay likes Florida and wants to hang around a while.

Yes~

I haven't lost power, but I am doing my best to keep my pool from overflowing and unfortunately, our yard is pretty trashed.

That is nothing compared to the people on the coast whose homes are flooded and destroyed.

I hope once Fay makes her way up to Georgia, she will park her butt over Lake Lanier and give North Georgia a much needed break from the water shortage.

Shane...

I recommend you to get you ass out of there!

Why don't you spend some days here in Brazil?
It´s cheap, it´s fabulous and at same time you´ll have a wonderful oportunity to see with your own eyes I´m not a fake. (as you insinuated in the other thread)

Btw, this is not personal. Did you get the email I sent you? I still waiting for your reply.

I just looked

at several different weather reports. They are all saying different things so it appears they really don't know what to expect this storm to do. Sorry to hear about the pool and Yard. I hope it stops there. I understand people have been told to stay indoors and not travel at all. I hope you have everything you need stocked up. Let us know how things go Shane.

Thanks Greg~

Will do..I appreciate the concern.

Thomas~ Chill out bro. I never said you were somebody else, but some of your postings do remind MANY long term AW members of another former member.
If I insinuated you were Chad, (Exploder3211), I apologize. To be quite frank, I am not in the mood for any drama from anybody as I am sure you can understand.

Also, I never did receive an email from you

Shane, I am so sorry that you have had to go through this. Just thankful that you are safe and still have power. Over here on the East side we sure haven't had much. We did get one little shower this morning but so far that has been it. A friend flew in last night for a coupled days and his plane was right on time into Tampa. Terry

"If I insinuated you were Chad, (Exploder3211), I apolo

I didn´t, I don´t and I won´t create a "drama". But that situation I passed because of you was awful.

Well, that's not important anymore. I apologies accepted! Now we can forget all about this and focus on this awful weather situation.

Is there something we can do to help you or other people in the same region?

Hi Terry...

I was thinking about how you were faring over there in Tampa. I am thankful that this storm didn't become a Hurricane and strike Tampa as it originally was supposed to. Tampa would have been devastated given it's close proximity to the gulf.

I am glad that you and your beautiful home don't have to deal with this.

Thanks for the concern, I am fine. Just a little grouchy and not feeling well today.

Best of luck to you Shane, hopefully it will all be just a memory soon.

I have friends in Eustis that I've been worried about as I haven't been able to in contact with them.

They are supposed to be flying up here to Seattle tomorrow and I have no idea what's going to happen...

Shane

I couldn´t understand yet if this storm is only a heavy rain and winds or a strong possibility of a tornado.
All the news I tried to search are very confuse.

Please continue posting here continuously how is the real situation in your region by your point of view.

Also, please post here your recomendations for the people in your area.

Wow, Shane! Hang in there. Looks like we might not get much with this storm, as bad as we need it. They were saying on the news this morning that some areas of FL were getting 30+ inches of rain! Boy, we could sure use that up here...

Shane, Hold on tight!
My daughter and her family live north of you in Lake Mary. My grandson went back to school on Monday and has been home since Tuesday. She's nagging her hubby to finish the ark! I think she's glad that they decided to wait til next year to put in the pool.

Bill

My

parents live in the Vero-Melbourne area and they did get quite a deluge. My dad measured 23" from Tuesday to last evening. Their area is fairly high for the east coast; 15 ft. above sea level and good stormwater drainage. So no flooding in their immediate neighborhood.

Back in August of 1995 a Catagory 1 storm made landfall there and left behind 22" of rainfall in 24 hours. The area has developed a lot since then and stormwater control is challenged.

Thank You Joe~

It would be great to meet you! Do you know Terry over in Ruskin? He is a sweetheart of a guy.
Also, my good friend AndrewinOrlando, affectionately known as "Betty"?

We must plan a meeting sometime.. =)

Shane, I've been thiking about ya and am glad you're pretty much safe. A similar scenario hit Houston in the late 1990s. The bayous throught the city were a rampage. The Texas Medical Center was flooded, all the basements of the hospitals. Years of research were lost. So reading about Fay the last 3 days brings back all those memories.

Hey Bob, that was tropical storm Allison in 2000 that flooded everything!
Now to lighten up this thread here is some entertainment.

Do people have to kill themselves to get a Darwin Award? Maybe this guy will get an honorable mention?

Maybe this guy was going "Whhheeeee!" as he was flying through the air? Why wasn't he drinking a cup of Starbucks Coffee while performing such a stunt? Or maybe having a conversation on his cell phone at the same time? Who is going to pay for his hospital bills? Himself or Mama & Daddy?

I think the chances are high that this guy will be out there doing this again real soon! Adrenalin junkie!
