Looking over the log-in report it appears that most people are logged in and just fine now. There does appear to be a few users who are having issues logging in after the move of the our web sever on Saturday afternoon.

If this is the case you need to clear your browsing history and reset your cookies from the browser you are using.

If you are not sure how to do this or if it doesn't work please email me at [email protected] for assistance.

Thanks again everyone for your patience during this transition time.

What seems to have helped in my case was to reset Top Sites in Safari. When I arrived on Automaticwasher from the Top Sites, it would look like I was logged out, but when I typed www.automaticwasher.org on the address bar, it would work normally -- I dunno why the Top Sites kept the wrong page but it did.

Robert . . .

I did have some problem of logging in and then being logged out once I refreshed the page, but it has now disappeared and everything seems to be working normally (using IE).

As always, thanks so much for keeping the software and servers so up to date. When I visit other boards that use standard software they now seem so very basic and BOL, and I have to remind myself that most of our little luxuries are available only here at AW!

Hi Jay, if you are having trouble staying logged in after the sever move, with Firefox its a two step process,

#1 Select both TOOLS... CLEAR RECENT HISTORY, make sure every check box is selected.

#2 TOOLS...OPTIONS...REMOVE INDIVIDUAL COOKIES, be sure every last cookie from automaticwasher.org is selected and deleted.

Then you will have to log in and hopefully you will stay logged in then.

I believe that should cure it. Let me know if that helps.

I am on Firefox on my Windows computer.

When I open the website it always shows that I am not logged in.

However if I click on any of the Discuss-o-mat threads it shows me in as logged in.

Not a big deal.

I didn't know that Brent, I'll look into that next week. Thank you. Now that I think about it I have a feeling I know what might be causing that, it hopefully wont be hard to fix.

OK after thinking about what Brent said I started experimenting. I think what is happening here is how the address is being typed into the address bar. What I found is if you enter the site by typing "automaticwasher.org" the screen shows you as not being logged in until you click on an icon. If you enter the site by typing "www.automaticwasher.org" then the system shows you as being logged in. Try it, I bet this is where the confusion is happening. Granted that's a bug that needs to be fixed, but I haven't figured out how to fix that yet, but I'll look into it. But for now remember to come into the site use www.automaticwasher.org, be sure to remember to type the www..

This does not seem to effect Safari, but does in IE8/9, Firefox, Opera and Chrome.

OK everyone, I think I figured out how to get around the www.automaticwasher.org vs. the automaticwasher.org issue with the latter forgetting the log-in.

PLEASE LOG OUT AND RE-LOG BACK IN FOR THESE CHANGES TO TAKE EFFECT ON YOUR BROWSER.

As usually let me know if you notice anything strange.

Thank you Brent for point this out to me.

If anyone uses any other little weird tricks to make the site work please email me and let me know in case it is something that should be fixed.
