Tucson 2007: And so it begins...

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

hey!

Don't be dissin' GE dishwashers, boi!!!! *LOL*

I have a MOL GE (en plastique) in the basment kitchen; bought it because it was a scratch-and-dent for $75. Loved to hate that machine, but guess what? Being that it is a water-hog, it is fast and good. No pre-rinsing.

My fancy, expensive KitcheAid with a SS interior (by Whirlpool (talltub model)) can't wash a dish for beans.

Ou est la justice en la vie?

*chuckle*

I like any GE that's the Potscrubber III or newer, and with the corresponding multi-orbit arm. The old big-hole wash arm with simple tower and no constant rinse sucks.

And just think, Togs, you can write KitchenAid now and tell them that a couple o' boys in AZ with a drill and some PVC just out-engineered their tall-tub :-)

What happened

with the sheet? Was it loaded in a circular fashion to produce an escape rope? Inquiring minds want to know!

Well if you think they're handsome...

Wait til you use one of those old Kitchenaid DW's Jon, you'll be hooked!

I swapped out a 4 year old Kenmore Tall tub last year for a vintage Kitchenaid, never been sorry once I did, they are great machines!

Tucson 2007.....the infamous sheet

We actually had prepared test swatches (white cotton sheets, with ketchup, mustard, red wine, turmeric, coffee, chocolate, and soy sauce) that people could play with to choose their detergent and machine combination to defeat the stains.

Unfortunately, we forgot to set them out, but Greg, Bob, Roger, Don, Terry, Scott, and Nate rose to the challenge to wash the (then five-day old--ew!) swatches.

In particular, we had a sheet for Toggleswitch that we had used while icing doughnuts with a turkey baster. Gosh, that one was a mess!

The FrigiKnot!

Loading all those dishtowel-sized white swatches in with the black sheet produced marginal results, even with the Live Water action. Between the fugitive dyes from the black sheet and the yellow of the turmeric and mustard, the Frigidaire produced results that would have pissed off Miss Joy Weis.

As a bonus, it tied the whole thing into a giant rope. We could have, if the swatches had been clean, gone straight to the dryer with it.

Blackstone to the rescue!

The white swatches are re-washed in the Blackstone, with a little chlorine bleach to help rid the yellowness.

And the 1970 Kenmore gives Toggle some good clean sheets.

The 1970 Kenmore, with, um, "Protein Soak" helped soften and remove the icing from the dropcloth.

Nothing like a good soaking!

That is too hilarious! LMAO

Another reason for me to stay another day next year...;-)
