Paul you can make arrangements to buy it while you are in Brazil, in fact you should buy several appliances while you are on vacation because you have extra time on your hands, that will teach Chris to take you away from all your appliances.

This washer was posted here a while back by Kenny(goatfarmer). As you can see in the link below it was first listed on eBay for $499, didn't sell, and was then re-listed for $600. Now it's down to $300, which is better but I still doubt it'll sell. If you really want it Paul, you should make him an offer and see what happens. The worst he can do is say no.

What is the control or switch that's located on the top right side of the console above the Maytag logo?

The little knob on top of the control panel is an auxiliary rinse temperature control switch, it allows you to have the regular warm rinse with warm or hot washes or the now preferred energy saving cold water for rinsing, even in 1965 customers were asking for the ability to reduce the HUGE amount of hot water that automatic washers used.

I am the new happy owner of this washer. It is in storage by the seller and I already have Plycon going to pick it up, but I appreciate the offer. Now if I can only find the matching dryer. I asked that guy in California to break up his set that he has on e-Bay right now at such a high price, but he would not do so. I'll just keep looking.

Good for you Bob!  Glad you're on the way to your vintage set.  I had a set of Maytags in turquoise way back in 1990 until 1998 and still get a pang of regret for letting them go when I see them pop up.  Enjoy!
