Yes, this has been a long time in the making... That absolutely mint condition 1965 Lady K roto-rack dishwasher has been patiently waiting out in the garage.
Well, this weekend, the lady got to see the Ogden kitchen!

HI Paul

Love this new dishwasher. I bought one just like this for my mom for Christmas of 1966. Would they have used the same model for at least 2 years in a row? Her's was coppertone, but the exact same outside, controls and top. Hope you are well? Gary

The only thing I had to do to this machine was wipe off the dust!
The machine belonged to an older person who seemed to have decided that "top of the line" was the way to go... I bought the turquoise LK washer from the nephew of the former owner also.
This dishwasher looked as if it never got used, not even on Thanksgiving! Well, after a test cycle with no dishes, I figured it was time to load 'er up with the stuff that wouldn't fit in the GE pull-out after preparing for a visit from friends this weekend.
Here's the dirty dishes, ready for the maiden wash....

This load got a 'normal wash' which was W R R W R R D and took about 50 minutes.

Just curious, I did a test of the 'short wash' and it seemed to run W R R D, while 'light wash' did W R R and no dry... I am curious to know if anyone knows what the cycle sequences were supposed to be.

Sparkling glasses!! I wonder if perhaps there's some 'vintage' Jet Dry in that dispenser... All in all, I would have to say, this machine rocks!!
AND hubby can finally say I have a 'modern' machine in the kitchen in Ogden. LOL

AND it's a roto-rack!! I always wanted one of these machines! I MUST get the earlier KM roto-rack (impeller-wash) up and running this summer. But there is at least one more Kenmore on the way... Stay tuned...

Thoroughly Modern Millie

Its a wonderful piece of our past that was considered space age in its day.  This is inovation that stood the test of time.  There just nothing like spousal support to ease the burden of guilt that can sometimes come with collecting.  Peter never says a word when something new and modern comes out so something old and mouse chewed can come in, but I pray there is never a malfunction that causes any damage.

Paul That is one beautiful lady !
I was so excited when you got that machine several months ago.
Now Chris should like this dishwasher it is Quit ?
Are you going to color the machine to match the rest ?
Now let's try that 150f wash for your dirtest and large cassarole dishes mate.

Beautiful!!!

Paul,

C’est très magnifique, n’est-ce pas??? J’aime bien ce lave-vaisselle automatique de Kenmore.

I hope all is going well with you Paul! You have really been getting a lot of machines back in service lately. Congratulations!! Happy dishwashing!

If my Aunt Doris could see that load, she would be sucking her teeth and pulling 90% of the dishes out to wash by hand. I am kinda suprised margarita glasses fit in the top rack? How many wine glasses could it hold? Those heavy, black bottom gas station glasses are, 'sparkling like a smile on a spring morning'
Wonderful dishwasher.

Paul, this ia wonderful find! Thank you for posting, and also saving that machine haha. Excellent post! The machine looks like it is in pristine, fresh out of the box condition.

Does the cycle changer button just cancel the current cycle or?
