Twins arrive ... with some minor damage

So I ended up getting the Westinghouse twins today. They are the ones from Connecticut that were posted last month.
Unfortunately the shipper was a little rough with them.
The shaft on the load size control knob (left side) got snapped off in the center - not sure if I can just replace the shaft or if it's too integrated of a unit.

Also the plastic switch plate that indicates small-med-large(mounted just inside the door) got broken up as well.

I have a great deal of cleaning to do on both machines.
I will post some pics after I get them more presentable.

I am sure it's a long shot - but does anyone have any leads on replacements for those two parts?

here is the plastic cover - I am not sure if there is supposed to be more to it - like a switch or lever that sticks out ?

The boot is pretty rough as too... will probably need a replacement as well.

I am so glad someone was able to get them- my partner & I were planning on taking a trip ourselves, but other issues came up-
I think I may have an extra scale indicater if thats you need-Are you talking about the water level switch shaft?
This model you have, has a neat pressure switch that breaks the current to the solenoid on the speed changer if it gets off balance- is this one a three belt design, or a transmission unit?
Is it an L102, or does it have another letter after the model number?
They look to be in decent shape to me!

It's an L-102 model with 2 belts.

The shipper was "jimmyrut" on uship. I guess I can't totally blame him as this is a particularly difficult washer to move.
The drum is suspended with springs and will smack against the sides if it's not bolted down for shipping. I should have stipulated this more clearly while making the shipping arrangements - but I did not... so I guess I kinda blew it as well.

I know that other folks on this forum have used him in the past b/c he has picked up machines at my house before.
I never heard about any bad experiences with those shipments.

So glad you were able to give them a good home!! Do you know what year they are?
I also had a problem with the weigh to save scale on the L5 Laundromat that I had shipped from Florida - in my case the tub had not been secured (like at all) and it bounced around and liquified the scale! AAARGH!
I have successfully re-glued broken control knobs with plastic epoxy (the two-tube stuff) - had to do that on a dryer control dial and it worked great. A real replacement would be better if you can find it! Try Larry at Modern Parts in Parma, Ohio (216-661-6966).
And email about a door boot if you need one; I have a source!

Glad you got the twins home mostly safe. The Slant-Front is a particularly difficult machine to move, as others have said. Without the original shipping braces, it would have taken a considerable amount of time for someone like a shipper to figure out how to secure that tub inside that cabinet and likely a task most would refuse anyway. Parts for these are around so no harm done in the long run and you'll be washing again soon!
